Patriot Heating & Cooling

We have had Patriot Heating and Cooling install and/or maintain several pieces of heating and cooling equipment in our home. In all cases, we have found them to be fair, honest, reliable and knowledgeable. They have been maintaining our equipment under a service contract for the past several years and we have had no problems because of that. Their price for service under a contract is among the most competitive we have found.

Jerry, the owner, is available and accessible and has never steered us in the wrong direction -- in some cases talking us OUT of expensive repairs or solutions suggested by other vendors. Who even does that, anymore? We have recommended Patriot on many occasions and this is just one more instance where we cannot recommend them highly enough.

Called Patriot for a noisy Inducer Motor on 12/26/2022. They had their tech out on 12/27/2022. The furnace was running when the tech arrived. First words out of his mouth was "This is an old Carrier Unit and needs to be replaced". I explained that my wife has been undergoing cancer treatments and I am busy paying for them right now, to just fix the problem and we will discuss the replacement. I was charged $370.00 for Cleaning the unit, upon his "Cleaning" he left the Neutral Wire off the blower motor, and said the Blower "WENT BAD" as well and it would cost $1,300.00 for the inducer motor and new Blower. The entire time the tech was out he constantly insisted they replace the unit. It would be the 8th one today. I told just to leave the furnace alone and I would call his office in the morning. The tech cleaned up his items and filled out his service ticket requesting $370.00 for the service call and cleaning. I paid on my AMEX card. So he left me without ANY HEAT with a Wife that is going through Cancer treatments. The next day I called my brother n law who promptly came from out of town to Fix my furnace. He is retired from his own business in the hvac trade. He traced down the wires and found not only was the neutral off the control board but the high and low wires were reversed. I had the Inducer motor replace for $260.00 and the furnace is running fine. I called the office to speak to the owner and was told he would return my call. Never heard from their office. My next stop is the BBB.
