Preferred Insurance

I've had insurance with Erie for my homes and cars for nearly 40 years. My insurance agency has been bought and sold a couple of times to these folks, and now, when I call "Preferred Insurance", it's like contacting the Social Security Administration...an uncaring bureaucracy!

I've gone to them for insurance three times in the last five years, for my motorcycle and for two different rental properties, which are both in premier neighborhoods. They wouldn't insure the properties because I didn't have a "management company" (I'm retired and manage the properties). I went to Steve Douglass of ALLSTATE in Leesburg, and they WELCOMED MY BUSINESS. Preferred Insurance tried to charge me $900/ann for my motorcycle through Progressive. When I called Progressive myself, the same coverage was $500!

Today, when I called, someone told me, "Oh...I'm going out of town this weekend! I'll have to let you talk to someone else!!"

Thanks guys. I'm in "Good Hands" with ALLSTATE now!

Preferred not only handles my personal insurance needs (Home, Auto and Umbrella) but I have also been referring clients to Preferred for many years as part of my daily course of business. Many online reviews tend to be negative and I wanted to be sure somebody took the time to sing the praises of Preferred. Family owned and ownership is comprised of very good people. Sharp, honest and they have integrity. My personal needs are more than well met and at a price I am very happy with. Do not fall for cut rate insurance that exists out there in the marketplace.

It's been almost three years - and I feel that it's safe to say I'm happy with my agent. He has a great attitude and keeps me informed of new coverage available with Erie - for instance the new auto security endorsement which gives me replacement cost coverage on my brand new car (which it may look like I'll need - beware of Deer!)

Awful exp with John Gay. I've been with Erie for 30 years plus and canceled my auto ins. today after speaking with John. He laughed when I told him I found a lower quote for the same ins. online and told me I would be dropped if I made a claim. He laughed and said, "as if you would change after 30 years." I dropped them immediately.
