I am a new patient and today was my first visit with Queensbury Family Dentistry. Jamie did a great job with the cleaning. Dr. Franklin was also very nice. Location is very convenient. They accepted the dental insurance I have through my employer. I am even going to have my wife start using this place. Very satisfied, looking forward to my next visit.

My daughter had a filling done he screwed it up and she was in agony. He made her wait a week and a half for an appointment only called in an antibiotic. In the mean time she went to urgent care twice because she was in so much pain. Finally her appointment rolls around he saw her for 2 minutes said he couldn't do anything and referred her somewhere else. Now we have to go somewhere that doesn't take our insurance and pay 2000 dollars or she has to wait another 3 weeks to get anything done. Do NOT go here!!!!!! They don't care about their patients.

Went for an appointment and left without service after a merry-go-round conversation with the hygienist when I politely refused consent for X-rays. As I had a complete set of X-rays taken 11.5 months ago, I did not feel it was necessary. It was like talking to my 3-year-old grand daughter. I said I was there for a check up and cleaning but no thanks on the X-rays. She told me, I'm not kidding you, I HAD to have X-rays, every year. No thank you... You have to...I understand you have protocols, but I'm the patient and I get to say if you will take X-rays....No you don't . She said she had to get permission from the dentist to NOT take X-rays, and then said I would have to promise to get them in 6 months. WHAT? Finally she said if I didn't get the X-rays I should look for another practice. I replied that decision had already been made and I left.

This place is absolutely horrible. It used to be a whole different practice with all different people. In not sure what happened to the dentists that used to be there, but when this new practice took over they also took on all of the old patients.
I made an appointment because I suspected I had TMJ disorder. My jaw was clicking and popping, it was hard to chew, and I was in quite a bit of pain on a daily basis.
Right off the bat I got a bad vibe from the place. The receptionists were cold and rude. The dental hygienist acted so much like the actual dentist that I was confused when the real dentist came in to see me. They both forced me to open my mouth wide several times to do different, seemingly unnecessary things, which caused me a lot of pain.
Both the hygenist and dentist were rude to me about things like the fact I had slight staining on my teeth from frequent coffee drinking. Something I'm already aware of, it's kind of common knowledge.... Not gonna stop drinking coffee.... The dentist also practically mocked me when he noticed and unusual piercing I have inside my upper lip called a smiley. He asked me very condescendingly if it hurt.
All they did to try and help me with my TMJ pain was offer some very basic tips like to ice and heat, avoid opening my mouth wide, and avoid chewy foods. All things I had already been doing and I told them weren't helping. When the hygenist asked me what some of the things that caused me pain were, I mentioned even brushing my teeth hurt. Her response, "ok well you don't need to open your mouth to brush your teeth". Sorry, but last time I checked yes, in fact, you do.
The dentist was much more concerned with the fact that I had a small cavity starting than the intense pain in my jaw. They made an appointment to have it filled for the next day. At this appointment I had plastic splints put in my mouth that forced me to keep my jaw open. The dentist even got annoyed when I physically could not open my jaw wider. Like, did you forget the reason I came here in the first place?
After having my cavity filled I also had molds taken of my teeth to have a mouthgaurd made that would prevent jaw clenching in my sleep. I was fist told this would be covered by my insurance, but later told (after they already took the molds) that I had to pay full price for it. A $100-200 cost. Weeks passed and I never got a call that my mouthgaurd was ready. Come to find out, they never sent in my order.
To top everything off, the receptionist completely botched the entry of my insurance information so several days after my appointments I received a bill in the mail for somewhere around $600 when my insurance is 80% coverage. My mom had to spend hours on the phone trying to sort everything out. A few days later, guess what? Another bill in the mail for $600.
It's been months since my appointment and I still get bills in the mail claiming I have an outstanding balance that needs to be paid. They won't tell me what the balance is for.
If I could give this dentist office negative stars, I promise you I would.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - annette g.Fort Edward, NY02Jul 29, 2020
FYI... parents are expected to stay outside while your children are inside. They lock the door. I'm not okay with this practice. When they confirmed appointment they never said this was the new policy.

The team at Queensbury Family Dentistry is amazing! I have always had a positive and informed experience. The staff is always so friendly and takes the time to answer any questions I have. Dr. Franklin is a master of his craft and I've been very happy with his skill and results.

This place is atrocious! The receptionist are catty and rude! Karen had actually told me that she would keep hanging up on me until I shut my mouth and listen to her disrespect me. Dr. Franklin was ALRIGHT not being a very convincing adjective for a doctor, but none the less. He cared nothing of the discomfort and pain i was in telling me to pretty much not eat if i didnt want my teeth to hurt. Wow thanks. I'll just starve myself instead of being prescribed some type of antibiotic and pain reliever. I would NEVER recommend anyone here even if it was the last dental office on earth. The only good thing i can say is that they are clean and all tools are brand new and opened in front of you

I would highly recommend this office! I had an appointment there recently and they were able to get me in right away. All the office ladies were amazing and Dr. Franklin was great!

If I could give this place a zero I would. I am an RN and Work in the healthcare field. I am appalled by the service I received this morning. I received a phone call on Thursday stating that if I did not confirm my appointment it would be cancelled. Fair enough! I didn't confirm, I didn't plan on going. I received a call Monday morning stating I needed to give 24 hr noticed, ugh no I didn't confirm my appt and the message clearly stated that it would be cancelled if I did not do so. Mind you we are talking about an appointment for a child. Which I would not recommend you bring your child to this less than friendly environment for children. I was told by Cindy the receptionist on the phone that I needed to bring my child there and was not able to cancel my appointment which should have been cancelled Thursday when I didn't confirm. And in the middle of our conversation, since she didn't agree with what I was saying she rudely hung up in the middle of me talking. Wow. You can see how floored I am at this customer service. There website states they have "exceptional and caring staff". I will be removing myself and my children from this practice. And if I were you I would save yourself the hassle and find a practice that cares about you as a person and not you as a spot in the schedule. And maybe word your message differently when you call your clients.(yes I'm a client! I'm paying you for services!) I work with many patients and physicians and I will be sure to share my experience with everyone. You can be the best dentist in the world but if this is the upfront of your business you will fail.
