Keaton VanKerken was our technician. He is a knowledgeable professional who did his job perfectly.
From the moment he arrived to the moment he left we felt the service was worth every penny we paid.
He did the work, explained what had happened and suggested future maintenance. He got cardboard laid down, protected the work area and disinfected the area when completed.
The price was fair and the work great. We even got a 90 day warranty. We are extremely happy and thankful for this business and we have no reason to use anyone else.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Regina H.Chicago, IL091Oct 27, 2022
Ryan replaced my kitchen sink garbage disposal in minutes! And the disposal works like a charm!
I'm always satisfied with the work Reid and Pederson completes and this time is no different.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mary F.Chicago, IL05421Sep 8, 2022

I was using these guys for a while on my properties with no problem on maybe 10 different calls, then they sent out a Tech to one of my buildings to rod a kitchen sink yesterday. He broke an old pipe underneath, which I completely understand they are not responsible for. However the tenant in the unit below talked to him on his way out and informed him that he had sewage dripping in from the ceiling. The tech looked at it claimed he didn't have any idea what it was, when it was clearly directly below where the tech had just rodded.
I should have took a picture of the bathroom on the floor in between that I had to clean up through with sewage all over the floor, took me at least two hours to clean up. I'm a good landlord who doesn't mind getting dirty to take care of his problems immediately so they have the least impact on my tenants, but this is ridiculous. He should of turn the water off on a sink that was causing the backup immediately. The kitchen sink bathroom sink toilet and bathtub for the unit above all ties together into a drum trap, which is why the sewage backed up from the broken sink pipe that is only a foot away from the drum trap in the floor.
They didn't call me, the tenant did, so I turned around and I had to call them, they didn't have a 24-hour plumber on call to respond to emergencies like this, which I would have been happy to pay for and left me on my own instead.
Basically they left a tenant, who is disabled, with poop dripping from his ceiling to twist in the wind. I'll never use them again. That tech was so unprofessional not to have at least turn the water off to that sink he had just rodded and call me, and it's ridiculous that they don't have an agreement with a 24hr plumber to immediately respond to situations like this.
Before some manager tries disputing my claim, 7 I already have pictures and statements from my tenants and will be contacting my attorney. You you are not responsible for old pipes but you have a duty to mitigate damage that you knew just took place and know that it was extremely likely that it was your tech's actions that started it. It's called being professional, which clearly this company is not.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

We're sorry you had a bad experience. As you can see from our other reviews we
take pride in providing the best possible service for all our customers.
Unfortunately in dealing with piping that is over 60 years old, situations occur
which are beyond our control, especially when chemicals were used in the pipe
prior to our arrival. The pipe becomes so brittle over time that the only thing
holding it together is the corrosion that has caused the blockage in the first place.
Our commitment to customer service was demonstrated when our technician
returned to the job location not long after you called to notify us of the problem
that had developed. At that time we provided the contact information for three
plumbers to replace the deteriorated pipe. We were also prepared to clean up
the water that had leaked into the units below. However, you became combative
with our technician, throwing his phone 20 feet and shouting obscenities in his
face. We understand that this was a stressful situation for you, but we had no
alternative other than to remove our technician from a potentially harmful
encounter.
Our commitment remains to provide you with the best possible experience. We
attempted to contact you by phone this morning to discuss an amicable
resolution to the unfortunate situation that occurred yesterday. If you're open to
discussing this further, please call us at (708) 757-9040 and ask to speak with
John, our owner. We'd greatly appreciate the opportunity to make things right. - Marci S.Crown Point, IN02577Nov 12, 2021
I wish that I had called Reid & Pederson first. I had a major sump pump drainage issue and had dealt with 2 plumbers and the city prior to getting a referral to Reid & Pederson. No one could seem to solve the problem. I was at my wit's end, frustrated, and broke from plumbers coming out, not finishing the job, and racking up plumbing bills with no solution in sight. Reid & Pederson came up with a quick and affordable solution to my problem and put this plumbing nightmare to rest finally. I found them to be quick to respond, professional, knowledgeable, and able to work within what was left of my tattered budget. Ryan did the work on my house and I have nothing but good things to say about him and all of the staff involved.

Had a slow draining tub that I couldn't fix. They came out pretty quickly and rodded out the drain; they were pretty professional

Originally they came Friday December 14 to rod my kitchen sink out that was backed up since Monday. The technician was unable to do it. He claimed he went 35 feet.
Next an appointment was set up for Monday to do a power blast. Two technicians tried rodding it and doing the power blast but never unclogged my sink.
I end up calling another plumber. With in the hour he had rodded my sink 50ft and it was all cleared. I know my house what needed to be done. I had gone a week with no kitchen sink. Had to go through a weekend with no sink.
They were professional attitude wise but for the aggrivation I needed someone to do the job. When I mentioned to the other plumber that they went 35 ft and that was all the line they had . He informed me that the lines are 25ft or 50 ft. If they would have done the same I would not have waited to have called another company.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Thanks for letting us know about your experience, Linda and we are sorry you weren't satisfied. Unfortunately, because of the layout of your home plumbing system, we could not complete the work. Because of this, we did not charge you for our visits and we hope that money can go towards future work. Thank you for your feedback.

Needed my kitchen drain unclogged. Called two other companies. One said they could get to it the next day, other said at least a week. I called Reid & Pederson based on their Yelp reviews. Nice lady answered the phone, took my information, and said someone could get out to my house TODAY! What's more, their pricing came in almost $100 under the other two estimates. The boys were polite, fixed the plumbing, and were in and out in less than two hours.
So, same day service and great pricing. I hope I never have to call them again (who wants to call a plumber anyhow?), but if I need a plumber in the future, I'm giving these guys a call first.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Keaton VanKerken of Reid & Pederson did an excellent job in unclogging two of our floor drains at Kragness Animal Hospital in Chicago. Keaton was very professional and addressed or concerns. I highly recommend Keaton & Reid & Perderson Drainage.
