Relais du Château Le

Wow, just beautiful in every way, wonderful food, a fab cellar and the dining room is lovely.


The Château stands at the top of the hill overlooking Chalais and is entered over a drawbridge.

Used to be excellent but with change of team has gone badly downhill ... arrogant Maitre d' who thinks the customer is an irritation who needs to be dicatated to .. no beers, no tap water, no house wine (and no reasonably priced wines on the list) and a very poor attitude. Food good if very small quantities and expensive for all it is. All in all, steer clear .. this is on its way out.
