Was in Avignon for the day and stumbled upon Maison Ripert. It was hands-down the best meal I ate in France on this trip - simply delicious and you could taste the freshness of the ingredients in every bite. If you ever find yourself in this charming little town be sure to eat here at least once! I wish I had more time to go back again!

Lucky for us this little gem was open. Came in on a Monday night not expecting much but wow, what a lovely experience. Warm and inviting staff with tasty food and drinks in a simple but elegant space. Really couldn't ask for anything more.

Simple delicious French food with amazing service. Strange decor with plain non decorated tables in the back and calla lilies in vases decorating the front.
Trip Advisor recommended Maison Ripert and they were right on the money.
Great food, and we got to sit in the non decorated back to watch the chefs work their magic.
We ordered:
-The Tapas dish, which was generous and very filling.
For 14 Euros, you got mussels (with cheese on top), fried potatoes with mayo sauce, stuffed roasted peppers (sweet and savory, this was delicious!), Serrano ham and chorizo (well seasoned, spicy, sweet, hints of paprika; it was wonderful Chorizo).
-Quasi veau (Veal) with roasted figs, couscous, roasted tomatoes and carrots. Amazing sauce. The roasted figs were some of the best, sweetest figs I have ever had.
-Grilled squid with stuffed tomato. The squid was perfectly cooked, tender, springy and charred on the edges. Loved this dish. Not only was it beautiful, it was a wonderful seafood dish. Perfect execution.
-Terre Blanche 2011 Rge. A dry red wine from Bordeaux. It was forgettable.
The owners were very accommodating and super busy. The wife was the waitress, hostess and server. The husband worked 3 jobs as well. They were running from 7:30 until 11pm. But the service did not suffer from their lack of staff.
You got to leisurely enjoy your meal, the French way.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0
