I would seriously get a second opinion before you allow this place to drill for cavities in your mouth. Dr. Peters told me I have two cavities, he's full of it too. I went to another dentist and they found no cavities. There were other red flags to this office that were made it clear to me that I could never feel comfortable at this dentist.

Trust is everything when selecting a dentist!

Schererville Family Dentistry is hands down the best dentist office in this area!

I suffered from dental phobia, which kept me from going to the dentist for over 10 years, so you can imagine the work up I needed when I came in. They were SO patient, understanding, polite, they went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable through each procedure. I could never run out of nice things to say about this team. I have been worked on by both the dentists at this practice, and both of them are equally skilled, talented, and professional.

Added bonus for people with social anxiety- you can even text to keep up with appointments!! This is huge for people who have a difficult time picking up the phone!

If you are in search of a dentist, you seriously don't need to look any further than Schererville Family Dentistry!

I was referred to Dr Pieters many years ago and have referred others in the years since. Absolutely the best in NWI. All of the staff and the doctors are wonderful.

I never thought I would like going to the dentist. The doctors are excellent and the staff are super friendly. It has always been an ordeal for me to go to the dentist due to my extreme fear. No more! The doctors are super patient and have always been so accommodating of my fear, so much so, that now I don't even give going to the dentist a second thought! It is such a treat to not stress knowing that I have an upcoming appointment! I highly recommend this dentist, especially for those who has a fear of gong to the dentist! Trust me, after going here, you will fear no more!

Nobody likes going to the dentist. I'm 41 years young And I have finally found a dentist I don't dread going to.Dr Robert Pieters and his Team make every visit very comfortable. He's always joking,talking and laughing with you which makes the appointment fly by. I recommend them to everyone.

I look forward to my dentist visits... yeah, you heard me right! The people in the office are super ultra mega nice, especially Dr. Robert Pieters (he'll even hold your hand if it's cold, no joke). I used to see him when he partnered with an older dentist that's been in town for years, but followed him when he started a new business this year.

He suggested massage therapy before opting for any expensive treatments for my TMJ, which really helped. However, that became too expensive so he made a night guard for me that's so tiny I won't be drooling all over my pillow at night.

They don't have all the fancy TVs by every chair, because you don't need them... the hygienists and dentists talk to you the whole time (imagine that!!). And the hours are so flexible... even though I work M-F and have been living partly in Chicago and partly in Indiana, I never have a problem scheduling an appointment.

So you know my pain of scheduling dental appointments: the gut-clenching fear, the gnawing anxiety, the overall dread. Now add in the stress of finding a new dentist and my anxiety levels shoot stratospherically high. Still, the new year was rapidly approaching and that meant it was time to get my pearly whites into the dentist.

Like any dental-phobe, I procrastinated making the appointment as long as possible; we're talking a few days shy of Christmas. Imagine my surprise to find that the exceedingly friendly receptionist not only managed to fit me in, but my husband as well. One week later, I found myself in the most comfortable (and immaculate!) waiting area I have ever, well...waited in. I filled out the requisite new patient paperwork and was immediately ushered back to meet my hygienist.

Now, despite my fear of the dentist, I still make it in twice a year for cleanings--I wasn't kidding when I said pearly whites. I've seen all sorts of offices and gadgetry. However, none of those visits prepared me for the high tech instruments utilized by Schererville Family Dentistry. All that tear-inducing poking and prodding into suspect spots to determine if you have a cavity? Almost non-existent here. My teeth were photographed and measured using some sort of laser camera to determine if certain spots were cavities or not.

After my cleaning and x-rays, the rather good-looking Dr. Pieters ambled in to do a more thorough check-up. And let's not kid ourselves, we all like for our dentist to be capable and all that; the fact that Dr. Pieters is a bit of a hottie does not hurt in the slightest. Dr.Pieters checked out my teeth, instantly knew that I wake up with headaches (I clench my teeth in my sleep, who knew?), chatted me up about autism and some of the latest therapies, recommended a night guard and some other preventative measures, and designed a care plan for some issues he discovered. All this with nary a bit of pain and zero anxiety.

Seriously. The man, and his staff, are the stuff from which dental dreams are made. If you need a dentist in the NWI area, I cannot recommend Dr. Peiters enough. He even offers a check-in offer for an exam, cleaning, and x-rays for $30 using the Yelp app. Awesome dentistry on the cheap? Now that's something to smile about.

Staff is great! My daughter is so picky about any type of doctor. Today was her 1st visit here, and she was so happy and comfortable there. I must say, I am impressed. They treated her with the same respect and care as if she were an adult, but still in a way that she'd understand at her young age. In fact, she liked them so much she can not wait til her next appointment!

Excellent friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and great staff! The Dentist spends time with you and fully explains everything about your visit! Highly recommend this dental practice...my Daughter even was comfortable with the dental hygienist the had and actually liked the dentist who previously hated going to the prior dentist.
