Their food is mediocre, I liked their benedict the best and their halibut cod, the crab cake itself was just OK, clam chowder soup was awful, watery, the worst i've ever had before! I wouldn't come back here again!

We decided to take advantage of the lovely weather and have an outdoor patio dinner in Steveston. After strolling along the boardwalk and surveying the options we picked Sockeye City Grill. My husband ordered a Halibut Burger, our daughter ordered Grilled Cheese Sandwich and Fries, and I ordered a Penne Pasta dish.Â
Penne Pasta: It came with spinach, grape tomatoes, mushrooms, fresh herbs, parmesan and a basil-pesto sauce. Simply sublime!
Grilled Cheese Sandwich and Fries: Her sandwich and fries came with a drink, and she got it all for $10. Pretty reasonably priced, especially considering how generous the portions were. Grilled cheese was grilled to perfection, and she was a very happy girl.Â
My husband's Halibut Burger: Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.Â
Service: Good
Parking: Plenty of free parking on the streets, but on a sunny day it can be quite busy in Steveston. We usually manage to score free parking but if you don't manage to get one of the free spots, there are pay parking lots available.

This restaurant on the wharf is an ideal dinning spot for locals and visitors looking for a typical Steveston meal of fish and chips.
Although the meals aren't cheap they are plentiful. The service is polite and as expected. The location is probably the best thing about this spot.
The restaurant has an outside patio on the boardwalk with a waterfront view. This type of dining experience is roughly $20+ a plate.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dec 19, 2021
Dropped into here this past weekend. We grabbed a table by the windows for Happy Hour and watching the sunset from the inside was nice and warm.
We got some appetizers off their Happy Hour menu and ordered their 3 course Table d'Hote menu. The food was pricey but expected for this place with a view. The quality was so-so but their fish and chips was solid with a generous serving of chips and fish was battered well.
The service was incredible! Our server (I think his name was Ty) was really friendly and checked in regularly to make sure we were good. We had to rush off at the end of the meal as our tiniest family member was starting to meltdown and he was very accommodating in arranging our dessert to go and helping us to pack up the rest of our main courses. I was impressed with the excellent service, good job!
The good:
Nice views
Great service
Good fish and chip
Convenient space to people watch

Now permanently closed. The space has a For Lease sign. There are three other seafood restaurants in the immediate area.

It's sometimes adequate, but often lacking. Wait staff slow to arrive, don't seem to understand that a brunch customer probably wants coffee fairly soon after sitting down. Silly mistakes, like not bringing a spoon with the coffee so you can stir in your cream and sugar. Hard to get their attention. The food is generally adequate.

Came here for happy hour on a sunny but cool day. Do not sit on the patio unless it's hot out, I was seated outside and it chilly. Server was sweet, I was given a blanket as some of their heaters aren't working. The food took awhile to come, and overall tasted just ok. Good location and nice view.
The happy hour platter is an assortment of fried things- squid, fish, prawns, onion rings and fries. The prawns were coated in a lot of Panko which I didn't like. Thought it'd be a steal for the price but the amount of onion rings / fries to seafood makes it not a good deal. The curly fries were really good though, probably the only thing I really enjoyed.
The tacos were a disappointment. Wouldn't get that again. It came with some mango on the side which was the best part of it. It was just some fried fish thrown on mixed greens in a tortilla. For the wings we asked for half bbq and half honey garlic but it seems like it was just plain wings. Again, nothing special. The food is okay and if it's not for the location I wouldn't come back.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Bryan D.North Vancouver, Canada59180127May 4, 2021
One of my favourite places to go whenever I can make it back down to Steveston. An interesting note, this location was originally a second Dave's Fish & Chips many years ago. I have always had great service here and my favourite go to dish is the Fish & Chips with Salmon.
The portion sizes are huge for the salmon, it is amazing. Moist, great coating and the fries are good as well. This latest trip was during when only outdoor dining was available. I had dinner with my mother and niece with a great waitress and during tough times we had a fantastic meal.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Brenda L.Los Angeles, CA315362755Jul 10, 2022
Mad tourist trap here!! The service was awful, literally took 20 minutes just to get our server to come over (this is after I had to inquire who our server was). Food was also not great, halibut fish and chips was overly fried and battered :( and the only thing that was some what decent was the crab Benny. Otherwise food was mediocre, drinks were watered down. Would avoid!

Great service for a hot Saturday afternoon. The crab cakes wasn't bad which comes with a salad. A small lunch but perfect as a pre-meal before Gelato next door.
This place unfortunately has tons of flies inside so best you get a seat outside in the sun.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
