This company just jerked us around for a full month to let us know that they can't see our son (who is 19 months old and at a crucial stage of development) for an evaluation.
Not that they evaluated him and can't help with care. Not that there is an insurance or other holdup (full coverage under United). But that they can't even SEE him for an evaluation.
We are not living in the middle of nowhere. We are in the Denver metro area and about a mile from the pediatrician who referred us to Solace, and who has used them for other clients in the same area.
I can't begin to express how frustrated and disappointed I am with this company. Screenshots are coming, and a breakdown of how this whole process went is below. We were already extremely frustrated with how long it was taking for them to get us in for an eval, but for them to come back after a full month and say he can't be seen AT ALL for no specific reason (they don't even know anything about him, and it is certainly not a location or insurance issue) is absolutely unacceptable. Do not trust this company to help your family.
We were referred at his 18 month appointment and it has taken a full month for them to tell us they can't see him. This is a crucial stage of his development with speech etc., and it is truly very crucial time that they cost us. If they would have said from day 1 that they couldn't see him for an eval that is one thing, but the level of frustration on losing a whole month and not even being able to get an evaluation is unreal.
We were referred at his 18 month appointment. Didn't hear anything for a week, finally followed up and they didn't have the referral. Maybe it wasn't sent as we were told, no huge deal, these things take some time.
Week 1 - We call them to follow up, they say they don't have the referral. Pediatrician resends it, we are told they will reach out in a week to set something up.
Week 2 - They get ahold of us and ask for scheduling preferences. We specifically stay from the start Thursday would be ideal but any day works and we can be flexible. They say thank you, we will get ahold of you in a week
Week 3 - They get back to us again, saying "Sorry, we can't find anyone for Thursdays, do any other days work?" Frustration is starting to build, because we said from the start any other days work and that Thursday would have just been best. Say the same thing again. They say "We will be in touch for a week."
Week 4 - Hear back from them again, saying the SAME THING. We can't find anyone for Thursdays, do any other days work? Tell them again with more patience lost that we told them from the very beginning that we would make any day work. They tell us again, we will get back to you in a week.
Week 5, today - They reach out and tell us they are unable to find anyone to meet our son for an eval at any time, any day, after wasting 4 full weeks that we could have been looking for another provider
We are both pretty understanding, and we were being patient and understanding with the process until Week 3 when they said once again they can't find anyone for Thursdays, when we had told them from the very beginning any day works. But for them to come back after all of this crucial time is wasted and tell us there is nobody who can do an eval on any day, any time, at any location, is absolutely unacceptable
Do not trust this company. Do not rely on them. You are much better off finding someone else from the beginning. I will update this post when we find someone to help and give our recommendation
Also, a quick note, they finally said they could do speech therapy sessions remotely. With an 18-month old. I am far from opposed to e-meetings, I run a remote business and do them all the time. But for them to think this is an acceptable (and worthwhile of the cost to us) solution for an 18 month old BABY who can't even sit still for Facetime with family is honestly pretty hilarious. Would have thought they could have found a better solution after a month, but here we are I guess.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Gypsy F.San Mateo, CA252192Oct 7, 2019
Our speech pathologist Arielle is the best!!!
Truly the most wonderful, kind, sweet, warm, hardworking and knowledgeable therapist. My son has many speech issues and she makes him work hard but in a very fun way.
I'm so glad I found her through solace.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dominique T.I-70 Corridor, Arvada, CO3519Mar 18, 2019First to Review
Our speech therapist for our children is amazing she knows how to get the children to interact and open up extremely fast. We have been working with solace for about 3 months now and my children's vocabulary have blossomed like a flower. I do wish the therapy time was extended a little longer to a hour instead of 45 minutes because it does seem a little rushed sometimes. If your child is have developmental delays I would suggest solace to get them back on track. They offer service from age birth-18 years.

I can't say enough good things about our speech therapist Emily. So I'll only say some LOL. My youngest (2) has a delay and he was diagnosed shortly before covid. The idea of telemedicine worried me because he's a toddler and honestly she found ways to make it work! He's finally opening up his language abilities. But not only this, but she was able to catch things with my oldest (7) in the background at times, that NO ONE had caught.( And even having suspicions,l myself, no one else had really took me seriously). And over zoom/ring! . I was stunned and she was completely right! Thank god. She always communicates with me regarding any plans, updates, concerns, and scheduling. She always able to help us with crazy schedules now with health/ covid/ whatever. She also suggested our OT Susan for our oldest and she is just as wonderful. My daughter likes her positivity and energy. And both therapist communicate with each other which is nice as a parent not to constantly repeat goals etc. They. Actually. Listen. It's hard to come by especially as the parent cause sometimes it feel like we are screaming into the void. I'm so very thankful. And plan to stick with these two indefinitely

I worked for Solace for 1.5 years and from the perspective of a therapist this is an A+ company. The office staff is kind and accommodating. Co-workers are helpful and collaborative. Darcie is an amazing CEO and is willing to meet for coffee just because. Solace does their best to pair families with "best fit" clinicians and provide appropriate services. I moved out of state and wish that I could find a like company elsewhere. No company is perfect - but I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Solace and would highly recommend them as an employer.
