Best place to eat in town. Sorella Caffe is timeless. The staff could not be any friendlier, the food is consistently (read always) delicious, and the atmosphere is unlike anything you can find today: classic, sweet, charming, tasteful, homey. Did I mention you sit down to fresh bread and a fresh chunk of Parmesan? (Sold!!) The first night we ate there, my husband and I left feeling like we'd found an absolute gem, and for some reason, the universe aligned to house this magical restaurant in our sweet little town. We celebrated my birthday here, sneak away for dinner dates here, and bring our friends and family out to Fairfax so we can show off our delightful family-friendly Italian restaurant. Molto grazie, Sorella Caffe!

Sorella Caffe is great! I love that when you come in, one of the staff brings a huge Parmesan cheese wheel and cuts out a piece for everyone at the table as an appetizer before you ever order! The food is great, good portions and the atmosphere is very inviting and feels like you are at someones house for dinner. But then again, this is only my perception and opinion. Go try it for yourself!

This restaurant has the most amazing and freshly prepared delicacies! You enter a cozy restaurant with windows all around and get seated. Your waiter brings you freshly carved pieces of cheese and, oh my, paired with their House Red wine, I was floored! I asked for their olives and they were juicy and delicious! I ordered their spinach ravioli with pesto sauce and it was creamy, and delicious! Will definitely visit this amazing place if i am back in the area!

Ate there las night, and not at all impressed. I don't mind kids in a restaurant, but this place was crawling with them. Almost every table had two to four kids or more. And they were those Marin-entiltled-type kids, allowed to scream, and run and stomp around. Even so, the food was just not good. I will say I liked the cheese and olives they start you with, and the Ceasar $7 was pretty good, too. But the both of our pasta dishes were terrible. The special, fettucini with clams, shrimp and crab, $16 was over-the-top fishy tasting. My guests fettucini Alfredo $13 was cold and paste-y. A carafe of house wine was $19, a bit pricey for a Pinot Grigio. Service was rushed, and If you're like me, it's annoying when they get your money and you get a bad experience.

Love this place. Extensive menu and every item we had was excellent. The carbonara was the best I've had in a very long time. Good wine list with 90% of the wines priced at less than $40. Our server was on it and had a great personality If your in the mood for dessert try the tiramisu. It's easily enough for four people

Love love love this place! They are nice to 3 year olds, pre teens, teens and adults. Plus they have delicious food, affordable house wine poured out of a chicken pitcher, and warm blazing 70's style fireplaces. I ask you: what more do you need!! If you're looking for stuffy and the latest gastronomic trend skip it. If you're ready for a down home Italian meal in a convivial community type place with delicious food come here!

Yum, Yum, Yum! Very good food, and great atmosphere! I've been here once, and my experience was absolutely wonderful. Friendly, prompt service, and delish food. I highly recommend Sorella's Caffe for a 1st date, or a group event!

The best family Italian restaurant I've ever been! The kindest staff, excellent service and the food is divine! The fried calamari are crisp and soft so delicious, I had dog geri and meatballs and hands down the best I've ever had. Yummy food and cozy environment and generous portions! Oooo and you must get the tiramisu for dessert it's a knock out so good!!!

Once again a terrible meal. If you hate crab - order the crab cakes because there is no crab in it. Must be canned. Hate that wheel of chees you tote around. ugh. This place is only good with large families with kids who like pasta.

Sorella is a tough one. This could easily be a restaurant that you might not visit a second time (so noisy you can't talk, noisy children running all over the place, pasta consistently undercooked), but return we do. We can't help it. The owners are a delightful sister duo (the hostess and chef) who make you feel like you've just stepped into their busy, passionate, Italian home. If you have to wait, you're handed a glass of wine. When you're seated, you are greeted by a waiter who carves out a large chunk of parmesean cheese from a humungous brick of the stuff that he's carrying around, and marinated (to die for) olives. The menu is basic Italian, and reasonably priced. Their salmon is always fresh and melts in your mouth. The end of the meal comes complete with animal cookies and gummy bears. So what's not to love - and why only 4 stars? The noise is deafening, the pasta (it bears repeating) is undercooked (way below al dente) and the meat sauce is not terrific (one of my gauges for a good Italian restaurant). So how to fix that? Don't eat the meat sauce, and always ask for the pasta "well done". The bottom line is this restaurant makes you feel like you've come home - for better or worse.
Update 12-1-2012. They got the pasta right, and the meat sauce is like Noni's. Yeah! Try the Pollo alla Sorella. To die for. Love this restaurant. Cap your night with a glass of wine at the new wine bar next door.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
