Love Speck! I'm really sad that they are leaving the Delaware area and moving downtown. They should try to keep both locations open!
The food is fresh and so flavorful. Everything we had was excellent. From the drinks to the appetizers to our entrees and the desserts were so good! The restaurant itself is a fairly small space so reservations are highly recommended. Our server was great!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 232111129Jan 16, 2021
This place was a great "getaway" date night for us. The ambiance was very intimate and social distance safe with barn doors that separated guest.
Also, the waiter was fannntastic!! He was very knowledgeable about the libations and oh the food LOL. The portions weren't very big but that's ok still Lovvved our meal, libations, and appetizer.
I appreciate the dessert cookies at the end. Cost was about $20 per plate well worth it. We will be back
Thanks for making us feel comfortable & welcome especially when we drove 45 minutes from a very "questionable" place in Baltimore OHHelpful 7Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0Business owner information

We had a lovely meal at Speck tonight in their new winter outdoor seating area. That said, I went in expecting a magical Christmas igloo dining experience and this was not that.
Did we have a nice dinner? Yes. Were we cozy and safe in a little structure just for our table? Also yes.
But it was cramped, two of us bashed our heads (and we are NOT tall) and it was a garden shed, NOT even remotely close to an igloo. Worst of all, there was a loud generator running the entire time making quiet conversation difficult.
Look, it's still a nice option for COVID dining. It was great to get out of the house, we liked our food and the almond cookies at the end of the meal were perfection. I just want people to go into it eyes wide open to avoid any disappointment.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Wow, thanks for the 3 star review. We kill ourselves financially and physically to run these suckers. Generators are the worst, but to keep the greenhouses heated takes more energy than our, or the city’s electricity can bear. We don’t like being covered in gasoline or running out in frigid temps to serve tables. But, that’s what we have to do to literally barely survive this year. It’s tough to hear such negative feedback after so much work. Ouch. Amatos has beautiful igloos. Our limited space couldn’t accommodate such an option. Thanks for the feedback. Happy New Year!

It was a 'specktacular' dinner at Speck ;) ! The restaurant has limited amount of tables due to its size, so I highly recommend making reservations thru Tock app in advance. My friends and I ordered a variety of food to try. Speck changes their menu quite often based on the available seasonal ingredients. For appetizers, I really enjoyed the duck wings! The meat was tender and flavorful. The main pasta dishes were delicious. Both proteins and pasta were cooked perfectly and the sauces were yummy! For the dessert, I felt the panna cotta wasn't set probably but the flavor was good. Also the service that night was very slow. But the staff were friendly and helpful.

Ohh emm geee! You've got to get the Lemoncello! Uh-may-zing!
This Italian eatery was wonderful! We sat in our own greenhouse/igloo with hospital grade hepa filter and heater. Air flowed well and it was just the two of us!
Service was beyond superb! Anna was our server and Abby was our bartender. They were personable, super nice, and great at giving suggestion - don't forget attentive too!
Food was wonderful - red snapper, oysters, and of course cocktails! Their 50/50 martini is fabulous! Highly, highly recommend it if you are looking for something a little citrusy, a tiny bit sweet but not too strong, and a tad nutty. Delicious!
We had a wonderful evening here and highly recommend this spot. Go visit for a date night and feel totally safe in your own little hub. Extremely clean and mitigation from COVID was great!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Finally had the pleasure of trying this spot. I wanted to check it out in anticipation of their Columbus location. I was greeted by a friendly staff that made some fantastic recommendations. I started with the gem lettuce salad, was impressively crisp and fresh. The creamy avocado added a great counter balance. I also tried the confit wings (one of their best sellers). They were crispy and tender to the point of falling off the bone. The duck fat, light acidity, chili peppers and ample garlic were a delight. For my main I had the tortellini. The first take away was the powerful dill herbs. The creamy ricotta filling was silky smooth. Fresh greens in the broth added a slight bitter counter point. The real show stopper in this dish for me was the broth! I mean I was getting every last drop of that.
All in all a great spot with playful and tasty menu. Columbus will be lucky to add them to the downtown/Short North offerings.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

This is an amazing jewel box of a restaurant. We were lucky enough to get a table Friday and had an amazing meal.
We started with a craft cocktail, shared the gem salad with crisp veggies and then each had pasta.
The food quality was as good as anywhere in the country and the service was spectacular. Will definitely try to eat here again if back in Delaware.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kim C.Dayton, OH86129Jan 1, 2020
My family and I visited Speck on New Year's Eve. We all enjoyed the special New Year's Eve menu (see pic) to the fullest! Each course was fresh, creative, and bursting with flavor. Our favorite courses were the pastas (one soup, one in cream sauce) and the salad (served in a glass and mixed with a spoon to dress it). I also loved the dark chocolate mousse. It was smooth and intensely chocolatey.
The service was absolutely impeccable. I neglected to read the entire menu ahead of time and when it was time for the pasta course I mentioned that I have a shellfish allergy and everyone was very accommodating. I also asked for coffee at the end of our meal and our server went down the street to 1808 in the cold to get some for me. He went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our meal.
Speck is totally worth the drive from Columbus to Delaware and I look forward to returning in 2020!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0Business owner information

A common theme you'll see in reviews is folks driving 30-40min to eat at Speck--doesn't this tell you something?!?! We also drove about 40min and it was completely worth it; in fact, when can we go back? We haven't dined out much since lockdown and the two times that we did, it didn't feel safe or clean. Speck was the complete opposite. The barn door walls between each table is such a great idea and we loved the intimacy it created. Everyone was lovely and I appreciate them so much!
The food was delicious and seafood was fresh. We had the scallops and chicken and dumplings. Everything was wonderfully rich and comforting. I wish we actually lived closer so we can do takeout more often. We actually live across from Veritas and have always regretted not trying it before they closed during lockdown. But after going to Speck, we don't feel like we are missing out on truly great food and even better service.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information
