      Updated review

Update: almost 4 years later, Olga and her wonderful family have now watched BOTH of our kids, all the way until they moved on to preschool!

Raising 2 young kids during Covid was super stressful to say the least, but Olga went above and beyond to ensure the safety of all the kids in the daycare. She never cut corners or took the easy way out. And that's how I would summarize her attitude towards all of her work: she is very honest, trustworthy, knowledgeable, and caring. She genuinely delights in the kids and does her best for them. We never had to worry about our kids when they were in her care. We trust her with them even more than we trust some of our own family.

We will forever be grateful to Olga and her family for contributing to our children's growth these early years. They learned so much from her and developed confidence and social skills.

This was our family's first experience with an 'at home' daycare and it was a great one! Olga has a max of 6 children there at a time so it was a great first daycare for our then 2yo. She and her daughters were very careful during covid and just in general with the spread of germs. My son was sick just a few times during his time with her, which is not the norm for first-timers in daycare.
Olga offers full time and part time hours and provided snacks and lunch. Highly recommend, especially for 2/3 year olds and those that are covid-conscious.

My son was attending and enjoying for several months. I think from a child's perspective they have activities and have fun. My dissatisfaction comes from my experience as a parent. I inquired about changing my son's schedule from 3 days to 2 days a week to which Olga responded with agreement. When I asked for pricing, I was surprised to see that it was not necessarily equal rated per day, but that the charge is higher for less days and decreases when there are more days in the week. She asked that I confirm if I want to move forward and I told her I would let her know. At this point I was unsure if I wanted to change the schedule after all because the cost savings wasn't as much as I initially thought. She left it as "I would just need confirmation so I can make any schedule adjustments for families wanting more availability."

The next day she texted "Hi, just wanted to check in about the decision of two days as Friday has been given to another family. I also wanted to remind that vacations are still paid. Thanks." I was alarmed because I had not confirmed but indeed she went ahead and offered my son's spot to another family. I was also confused that she would remind to pay for vacations because we had been paying for every vacation, holiday, and sick day for months.

Apparently there was confusion because she thought I was not decided on the two-day rate, but I was confirmed about # days anyway. I expressed my disappointment, I was upset, and I asked a lot of questions. It truly, truly seemed like she was trying to make decisions right away without consideration to us, and she was focused on collecting payment. That gave me a bad impression and I questioned her about that.

Her response was that humans make mistakes (true) and she apologized multiple times (true). However, I wanted to tell her how her words and actions made me feel as a customer and parent of a child. It felt like we did not matter, money was the most important factor to her, and we were replaceable. Normally, this is expected from any business but as a home childcare, I expected more consideration and relationship. She communicated to me that my feelings and dissatisfaction were very upsetting to her, to the extent that she was no longer comfortable continuing to care for my son and she terminated the contract. (Yes, there is a contract but she was making decisions on my behalf despite this.)

At the end of the day, it was miscommunication over text which is never a good idea. But it is very alarming that I was not able to express my feedback about her and her decisions as a customer; because of this, I wonder if her default action is to terminate all contracts whenever there is discontent communicated.

The person who suffers from all of this is my son, a child, who we all know take time to get used to people and environments. The failure of dependency on a childcare as working parents is extremely important and while she has every right to terminate a contract for any reason, it seems petty to do it over being defensive because you made a mistake and could not handle criticism & feedback. I will admit that I was more emotional than rationale, and maybe I should have kept my feelings to myself. But as parents, our kids are our #1 priority and it's not a business to us, it's our blood and the reason we work. Caring for other people's kids means you will need to deal with their parents, and parents have feelings! If you are apologetic about a mistake, own up to it and fix it. Running away from it made me think this business is unprofessional. Months of smooth, pleasant experience was destroyed in just a matter of minutes over a hurt ego/feelings. Beware, this may happen to you.

Olga and her daughter are really awesome and loving with my daughter. My girl went to sunrise for more than 8 months and really enjoyed it there.
Olga sends picture updates regularly and alerts us if my girl doesn't seem well or have unusual diaper situations. After the first week, my girl is always happy to go to daycare and play with other kids.
On almost every holiday Olga will make customized gift together with my kid. Framed photo on Dad's day, apron with printed picture on mother's day, etc.
It's a shame we had to leave because of moving away and my girl starting preschool at another city. I would strongly recommend Sunrise to other parents.

I can't begin to express the gratitude and joy that Olga at Sunrise Daycare has brought to our lives in caring for our son Lincoln. Our son started attending Sunrise at 1 years old and the love and care Olga gave our son was exceptionally great. Lincoln has learned so much and speaks Spanish so well that he amazes me. My husband and I were so nervous when Lincoln started attending over two years ago but it was the best decision we made for our son. Olga provided such a great learning environment with lots of time for play and social interaction. She goes above and beyond for each child and loves them unconditionally. My son is now 3 and just started attending preschool as of last week and he already knows all his letters and numbers thanks to Olga! Sunrise Daycare is clean, organized and a wonderful experience for children. I highly recommend Olga as she is the best care provider around!

Happy Camper status for both momma & baby girl! My daughter loves it here! I am so glad to have found Olga, and even more grateful that my baby enjoys going to "school" (as we call it) every day. She loves to play outside with the play house, buggies, and of course dress up.

My husband and I did some extensive research on child care for our girl. Some children do well in larger environments, however, we have found that a smaller group with more one on one interaction works best for our girl. Which makes this place a perfect fit.

She is happy, and so are we!

We are so lucky to have found Olga! I couldn't recommend her more highly. I came across Sunrise Childcare when I was looking for a Spanish-speaking family daycare for my then 6-month old, and was so impressed by Olga's program from the beginning. She incorporates so many different fun activities that support the children's learning and growth. She studied child development and continues to take seminars, and is really committed to providing the most nurturing environment possible. She offers so much for the kids, from her Spanish program to her play areas to her warm, loving energy. It makes me sad to leave my son when I go to work, but it makes me feel so much better knowing that he's so happy and well cared for. Thank you, Olga!

My son is so happy here. I honestly couldn't ask for a better place. Every morning he gets so excited about going to see his friends and now easier for me to tell him when it's nap time. Not only is this a great day care but olga also sends me pictures through out the day on what my son is learning new. Communication is great and as long as my son is happy I'm happy.
