If you are looking for a crack real estate attorney, call Tal Young. In addition to his considerable knowledge in real estate, Tal is outstanding at negotiation, has patience, and has a gift for timing.
He is easy to get in contact with and he kept me apprised of the status of the case every step of the way. He always answered any questions I had immediately. I am very grateful for his assistance.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Jim A.Tijeras, NM02Feb 11, 2023Updated review
I can't believe Tal Young is an attorney. If you are a current client, run away. Hiring him was the worst decision I have made in my life. My case was simple, collect on a judgement. Not only did he lose on getting the judgement, I lost on legal fees. Opposing counsel would make fun of him like a child.

He will send you down a rabbit hole. I had to hire another lawyer to get me out of the mess he put me and my family. If you are his client, run away. If you remain with him, make sure you review his invoice. All he wants is your money.

If youre looking for a skilled attorney, with an understanding of law and who will serve your best interest, Tal is not your guy. Look elsewhere. Litterally anywhere else.
You'd be better off handling any matter yourself.
It is unlikely there will be any recourse for our situation, but Tal blew it big time. We are beginning the process of complaining to the NM Bar. I would be happy to share the details of my experience with anyone who asks.

We had a construction/contractual issue we retained Tal to resolve. He is far and above the most knowledgeable attorney we've ever worked with and we've worked with more than our fair share of attorneys (unfortunately), mostly in family law and probate law. Tal was the "bulldog" we've always hoped for. The legal system is unnecessarily complex and moves in geological time phases, but Tal expertly guided us through the legal procedure and successfully managed mediation to a positive result for us. He accurately represent our position without fail and tirelessly, relentlessly worked on our behalf. Tal "gets it" and worked very hard to make sure we had a positive outcome in our case.

I gave this guy a second chance, and made a call, today, the sixth of August, after getting some calls back from him. Two in one day, two days in a row.
I called back, his assistant doesn't really listen, she hears what she wants to hear. I told him I would try back so he wouldn't have to keep trying me.
When I talked to him today, it was even worse than my 7/14 review. I had forgotten I even made the review, but today, I called, got talked to like I was garbage, and again he talked to me indirectly, like somehow I owe him something for his "time" and became arrogant, and obtuse with me. How does anyone get hired talking to their clients like this?
I got hung up upon because he was in a pissy mood and wanted money before even talking about it, talking to me like an idiot and I have to wonder why he even called back to get my business, he's a flake.
I left him a message that I am going to follow through with a complaint with the Office of Attorney regulation in New Mexico. Something tells me this guy wants to take the money and run.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0Jul 14, 2015Previous reviewThis attorney is arrogant, and tried to get me to pay him a $2500 retainer through a borderline solicited phone call. He couldn't grasp the concept of actually listening to the client he has attempting to pay him money or come to any conclusions and is impatient as hell.
If you don't think the work is even going to hit a thousand dollars, no one should come up with more than an 800 retainer. You don't take credit cards, how is anyone supposed to come up with this money?
Near as I can tell this guy will run off with your money. You can't reach him or his assistant, his receptionist is annoying and clueless and he can't seem to explain why his retainer is so high for work he knows won't hit more than a grand at best and even if it did, ask for another after showing your billing! Get the ball rolling, don't hold me to the impossible and expect me to not be anything but screwed if you take the retainer and never call me again. Doesn't return phone calls but expects 2500 dollars?
