The 5th Taste Sushi Restaurant

I think we found our new favorite neighborhood sushi restaurant! The sushi, maki and sashimi was great. Generous cuts of fresh fish and great presentations. Even the typical salad had the perfect amount of dressing and the miso soup had the proper ingredients in it.

My partner loves katsu and had their chicken katsu meal. Their katsu is so good that you don't even need any dipping sauce.

Great little neighborhood spot.

Came in for an impromptu weekday lynch while shopping in the area based on Yelp reviews and this little restaurant was a pleasure to visit.

It is a small joint with less than 10 tables but well attended to by a very pleasant waitress. You order using a tablet on each table and we opted for a salmon combo which came with sashimi, sushi and some rolls. The quality of the salmon was good and I loved the extra attention put into the plating.

My tempura udon came brimming with cabbage and carrots shreds which was a welcomed sight as extra veggies in a meal is always good. The tempura was also well done and I liked that the udon noodles had a great bounce.

Complimentary salad and miso soup were also quite good. Interestingly, the kitchen used nori as opposed to Wakame in their miso which my daughter seemed to love more than the usual version.

I would come back to eat here if I were back in the area craving sushi!

This restaurant is really clean and spacious as well. In the plaza there is free parking but it seems really limited as the spots for reserve parking at this restaurant or taken at 11:30 AM when I went so I had to park somewhere else. The staff are really friendly.

I ordered the grilled eel for $13.95. I really enjoyed the flavours of the year and it was towards really nice in the world of bones however I felt like the slice is really thin and there are only six of them so it wasn't worth the full 1395.

The portion for the salmon trio set which was $23 approximately, having sushi sashimi and Maki, had a bigger portion. It was filling, but I'd rather order something else next time.

Unfortunately, those operating this establishment don't know too much about business and customer relations.
I indicated to them on several occasions when picking up an order that HST should be calculated based on the amount NET of the cash discount and not based on the amount before the cash discount. I was told that they "will pass it on to the manager".
Today HST was calculated the same way and when I told the person in charge at the restaurant that it is wrong he told me that they spoke to the manager and if I don't like the way they calculate the HST I can pay by credit card and not receive the discount. Fantastic PR!
I asked for a telephone number so I can speak to the manager and was told "We don't have it".
The food is not bad but with this attitude, this establishment will not see me again.

Great sushi restaurant!
I came here with my family of 4. The staff were very nice and attentive and the food was decently priced. The service was very quick and we absolutely LOVED the octopus takoyaki appetizer. Definitely the best one we have tried yet. The sushi tasted fresh, the flavours were great and all the food we ordered came presented nicely with a generous amount. It was around $70 to fill 4 people which is a great price point! Overall a great experience, and we will be coming back!

The sushi was either too dry or the sauce was too overpowering in comparison to the seasoning of the other ingredients. Other than that, the restaurant provides a fantastic ambiance for dining in.

3.5 stars as the food was average for sushi, but prices a bit higher than other places. The good part was that with the boats you can choose the type of maki you like which is a plus. Great service as well.

Great sushi restaurant!

The staff are all very nice and attentive. They're watching your water levels like a hawk--ready to fill them to the top at any moment.

The food is tasty and at a great price point! The quality of the fish tastes pretty fresh and the flavour of the rolls are great! There weren't excessive amounts of rice or anything, but a really nice stuffing of their various fillings. The presentation of their boat was also very nice!

I look forward to coming again!

This is my second time here and I must say, I love it. The sushi is fresh and it's decently priced. It's definitely a hidden gem!

I've had their Sunomono Salad and it's so tasty!
Everything was fresh. The octopus to my surprise was soft and tender. Definitely turned me into a octopus eater

Fire salmon sushi - it was perfectly seared. It was soft and moist. The rice portion was balanced.

Fire dragon - is essentially the fire salmon on top of a dynamite roll. It's for people who want more flavour and texture than just salon and rice.

Sashimi - FRESH. That's all that needs to be said.
