With the weather getting nicer, I made an impromptu decision to have a picnic and grab some BBQ. A quick search lead me here!
I scanned the menu and called to place an order, but apparently they are only taking orders through the online platform or as walk in. I figured maybe they are busy? So I ordered online.
(EDIT: Ordering through the website takes you to a third party platform, where the prices are ~$1 higher than the menu (just realized this). Also, it's ridiculous you have to share your personal info another application just to order food ahead.)
When I walked in, it was empty. I don't understand why they couldn't just take my order over the phone. Anyway... The food was pretty much ready and it was a fairly quick pick up.
I ordered 1/2 lb brisket, the smoked chicken sandwich with chimichurri and bacon, coleslaw and pickles.
Brisket was good and smokey, but a little dry. The hot sauce helped.
The chicken sandwich was also very dry.
The coleslaw was fresh, but I felt it lacked flavor.
Pickles were good!
It seems like a nice little neighborhood joint with some good google reviews...but I was really surprised by the quality of the food. It really didn't feel like any of the items were fresh. Even the bacon tasted like it was cooked in the morning and sitting around all day.
The staff were friendly and it appears to be a good BBq joint in theory... So I guess give it a try if you are in the area... but go on a weekend for (hopefully) fresher items.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - 129184449Jun 25, 2021
Was disappointed that my usual bbq place was closed so I decided to give this place a try.
Opted for the classic bbq meats of brisket, ribs and pulled pork.
Texture on brisket and pulled pork were bang on tender and juicy. Rib was a bit disappointing as I generally like the meat of the ribs to fall right off the bone and it was quite a fight to get the meat off.
Taste wise the brisket lacked smoke flavour. Pulled pork could have came with a sauce. The ribs was a very simple dry rub. Loved the creamy slaw and kale salad.
Overall a decent bbq joint.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 22, 2019
WOW what a smell you get hit with when you first walk in. If you are not hungry before, you will be once you get a good whiff inside.
I have been here twice now and both times have enjoyed the food. Unfortunately they never have just the brisket so have had to settle for the brisket sandwich. I love beans and the beans here make my toes curl, in a good way lol.
There is seats inside so you can get comfy and just eat. I wish the ribs serving was a bit bigger but it is probably better for my waste line so thanks for that hahah.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Eddyc C.Toronto, Canada426108163Jun 7, 2019First to Review
I ordered the two meat combo for $20.
I chose the ribs and brisket with my two sides of beans and potato salad.
Both the ribs and brisket tasted very good. The meat had a light smokey flavour to it. I'm not sure what type of wood they use in their smoker.
The potato salad was fresh and tasted very good.
Beans were tender and slightly smokey.
Great new place.
I would go here again.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Vimal V.ON, Canada1521791075Sep 12, 2020
Though the restaurant is okay, it's location gets a 1 out of 5. Although there was dine in, there was no activity here when we went last night and we were the only patrons in the restaurant. The location added more to it's creepiness. Due to Covid the restaurant is operating more like a take out kitchen. The menu choices on the board were pizza, bbq and sandwich. I really wanted a bbq combo with a single meat but the person behind the counter forced me to take 2 meat bbq combo. The meat was okay and came with no bread. I was annoyed to the point of not asking them anymore. Bad Location and up selling makes this low on my list. Unless you are taking out delivery, you can attempt dine in at your own risk.

Had their beef brisket burger. It was so good I didn't even bother taking a picture!
I wish I had more space in my stomach to try some of their other items.
Note: It IS a BBQ joint, so the high prices are expected.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sakina I.North York, Toronto, Canada0376Aug 14, 2019
Seriously good and melt in the mouth, fork tender, smoked beef brisket. And I speak as one who has eaten brisket at various bbq joints in Texas. The smoked half chicken was pretty, good, too. The pulled lamb sandwich could have used a more spicy piri-piri sauce, but that's a personal taste. It was juicy enough. The cheddar cheese biscuit was a good savoury and it was nice to have mac 'n' cheese instead of a mayo based salad.
We returned for more of the beef brisket in short order. It was a good ambience in which to enjoy our meal.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - John H.Toronto, Canada3910610Jul 13, 2019
I love bbq especially Texas style bbq.
I ordered the 3 meat platter with ribs, brisket and pulled pork was good but I must say that I was a bit disappointed that they didn't have any beef ribs. Texas bbq is all about beef ribs.
I had the potato salad and beans as sides. They were ok.
I enjoyed the restaurant and the food, but unfortunately I've been spoiled by the Beach Hill Smokehouse .
This place is definitely number 2 on my list and I will be back. I do want to try their biscuits!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Susie-Ann H.Toronto, Canada75Jan 22, 2020
