Did a pick up order- lady working the host stand tonight (12/18), was super nice and double checked everything before handing it to me. Food was great and as ordered. Will come back when I'm in town again

Great location! I don't like to be negative, so I'm just going to lay out what happened and you can do what you want with it.
They greeted us right away and took us to the bar area to be seated. We were a large party of 8 so I appreciated the great service.
The restaurant was less than a quarter full. I asked if we could have the table next to the one they presented because it had more comfortable seats. All the sudden a lady popped out the back and then said they were going to love us. Ok, they moved us by the cold front door but ok, whatever. The table next to us was complaining to the manager for a bit so not sure why you would put us right by them when there were dozens of empty tables elsewhere...
They then got our drinks and took our order quickly. Then we waited, and waited, and waited. First person's food came approximately 30 minutes later. I was one of the first to get my food and my sweet potato fries were cold, but my happy hour hamburger was on point, would highly recommend that!
The last persons food came a good 7 minutes after the first persons and it included an appetizer that they got the same late time as their meal! Zero apologies or acknowledgment about the delay for this. I understand it's a larger party but at this point there was hardly anyone in the restaurant. Not sure why the big delay. If you are looking for a good spot to get a bite to eat and see the lights at the Columbus Commons this is a great location and very clean, just be prepared for a wait.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 14, 2023Updated review
I was never refunded, for the record. Maybe it's petty to write again but I shouldn't have to call for a 4th time to get this sorted out. I know this was weeks ago but I think it's fair to update people and tell them that this issue was simply never sorted out.

Oct 31, 2023Previous reviewI've been ordering delivery from The Goat more frequently due to the convenience of the delivery without any fees to my apartment since I live in the LC complex. I didn't have any issues and the food and coffee, it was always pretty good but this weekend it was unacceptable.
The food showed up at a proper time with no errors, but the delivery person told me she dropped the drinks on the way over so they're going to remake them. I said absolutely no worries, it happens and to take her time. By "take your time" i didn't mean take over an hour for 2 smoothies and 2 coffees. When I call back, they say they totally forgot and they'll get to it. Immediately someone knocks on my door and delivers the smoothies and coffees, so I call back again to tell them not to remake anything because someone it was already on the way without them knowing? Then, my friend who ordered the coffee held it up- completely curdled, absolutely disgusting. She tries it and says it was totally sour, and I smell it and refuse to even taste it. It smells horrible, which I don't even know how because she had ordered oat milk and it was clearly spoiled regular milk. I called them to let them know and ask if they wouldn't mind remaking it one more time, and they said yes absolutely and were very friendly.
And then.... we never heard from them again and never got the new coffee. And I still do not see any refund on my card (but this could supposedly take some time).
It's really too bad for this bad experience because, as I said before, the food and drinks here are good. I can't see myself ordering from here anymore when the biggest plus is the convenience and it is totally inconvenient to have to call so many times and get ignored.Aug 26, 2023Previous reviewI wasn't expecting much based on reviews, but I thought this was super solid! The brunch menu is super affordable and The Devil on Goatback Scramble was really good- not much pork belly, but the dates are actually super good in the eggs with everything going on. I live at LC Riversouth so I'm excited to come here again for brunch!

Visiting from out of town and was looking for a bite to eat before a wedding locally. Came to the goat hoping for a quick meal and it was the complete opposite. We were sat immediately to a restaurant that was almost entirely empty except for 3 or 4 tables. It took 15 mins for someone to acknowledge that we were even here. Another 10 mins to get our drinks in which we only received one. We ordered our food when we ordered drinks and it took us 45 mins to get our meal. Don't get the wings because they will come out cold. Would've been better off going to the local McDonalds down the street. If I were you I would keep looking.

Decent location but parking can be tricky. The food itself was decent but the service was sub par. Waited for drinks for 20 min while the sever shot the shit with the bartender and we were one of two tables in the place for lunch. When I ordered ranch, he brought be bbq sauce??? How do you even ask for ranch again after that.... Was wild

The Goat - LC River South 3/5
This was my second time at this location, but my first time ordering a proper meal. I decided on the smokehouse cheddar burger. I asked for it medium and was served a well done burger & as a cherry on top the patty didn't even cover the entire bun.
Over cooked and small portions aside the burger was solid. Seasoned well, and it's hard to go wrong when you top a burger with bacon, onion straws and BBQ sauce. That being said the fires were actually really good. Seasoned well and cooked perfectly.
I don't think I'll be in a rush to come back for a meal, but if you find yourself here for drinks the food is a solid accompaniment.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Business owner information

Been here a few times because of work. The food and service are great. Tried their burgers and chicken tenders. They're amazing. Love the Brussel sprouts for the sides! But the food quality control could be better. There's a few times the food is over-cooked/burned. But overall, it's a good and chill place to hangout with your friends/family and coworkers.

Ordered the Southern BLT and Tater Tots and the sandwich was decent but the tater tots were terrible. Wish I would've got fries.

Came for breakfast, really nice place. Ordered at the cafe' area and breakfast came to us. The coffee great, but the food...yum! Staff was really nice.

TLDR: decent pizza and reasonable pricing. Some of the worst service I've ever received.
I came for coffee and lunch the other day to kill a couple of hours while I worked from home on a Monday. The place was mostly empty outside of a few other people are working remotely. It's corporate cozy but on the outside looks as good as any to sit for a few hours.
It was 11:30am when I arrived so I figured I would start with coffee. They had a nice seasonal selection so I decided on the salted caramel latte. Emphasis on the salted but this drink is still decent. Just be prepared for it not to be as sweet as the name salted caramel might suggest.
The worst of it comes to food. Around noon we decided to order lunch and after tracking down our waiter (to be fair I understand having to get up and look for him since we were just sitting on our laptops) we order the goat on horseback pizza on gluten free crust and two salads as appetizers. About 30-40 minutes pass and our waiter returns saying they are out of gluten free crust. Not a big deal but why did it take over 30 minutes to notify us. He said the cooks were working on our order and whatever we ordered as replacement would go to the front of the queue. We then ordered the goat on horseback breakfast scramble (they have brunch until 2pm which is nice). Another 30 minutes pass and still nothing, not even the salads. I have to get up and look all over the restaurant for our waiter. I had to get the hostess to go track down our waiter who was hanging out in the kitchen. I asked him about the status of our food and he said the salads were ready but he forgot to bring them to us. When we finally got our food it was cold and underwhelming. The Tator tots were also burnt and looked like they were a complete afterthought. Who knows how long it had been sitting.
If you're looking for just coffee or a drink downtown this place is ok but be prepared to wait a long time for mediocre at best food.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information
