Dios mÃo, q delicia. The food is amazing, fresh, natural flavors, the spice is so good. Hard to find, inside of a little space this place is incredible, nice welcoming, very clean, very humble menu full of delicious food from India and Nepal. The garlic naan is amazing. Highly recommend.
Service is very good.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 18, 2024
I loved this restaurant! We went for my mom's birthday and staff was so accommodating and kind. We ordered a ton of dishes and every single item delivered. The portions are smaller than your average Desi restaurant, so you'd have to order more options than typically if you want to split things family style. We ended up ordering everything from the gobi manchurian, pani puri, papadum, chicken egg drop soup to the Sherpa sizzler, reshami kabob, salmon tikka, lamb korma, and saag paneer. All of the flavors were incredible and I'd definitely come back to try the other menu items!

My husband has been wanting to try this restaurant for a while - I've been putting him off. We went tonight, why did we wait so long?? The food was delicious and the portions were very generous. We have enough left over for dinner tomorrow. If I had a criticism, I would say that the service was a little slow- but the food was worth the waiting. We will definitely be going again.

The korma was fantastic, as were the somosas. The garlic naan was a little soggy and cool, and the butter chicken was honestly the worst butter chicken I've ever had. We almost swore it wasn't actually butter chicken bc it didn't have that classic taste. I'd 10000% go back for the korma.

This restaurant is still one of my favorite places to eat because of the authenticity of their entrees and wonderful flavors. It's always a challenge to decide because I want more than one, plus samosas, soup, naan. The dining room decor looks a little more upscale, so a nice venue for a date night, but casually dressed patrons won't be turned away. Many carry out customers while I was there and the dining room was about 1/2 occupied. Large parking lot behind building, where entrance is as well. *Don't try to enter from Michigan Ave*
Restrooms are in the hallway just outside of actual restaurant but only 20 feet from door. Come and enjoy the wonderful flavors of Indian cuisine! You won't be disappointed.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Aug 30, 2020Previous reviewI finally tried this restaurant, recommended by a coworker- whom we both are blessed to work with several colleagues from India. My entrees were fabulous! Tasting just like the homemade dishes shared at work (dare I say better?) I chose the mixed veg Pakora, Sofia Paneer, Methi Malai chicken and garlic naan. Check menu for descriptions. Paneer was roasted nicely with onions and peppers with charring adding flavor. I could eat Methi Malai chicken everyday because sauce is sooo flavorful and wonderful spice level. Garlic naan generously flavored with thinly sliced cloves. (Wearing a mask at work was a blessing to others!) This is my new favorite place, even though no dining in option at this time. Menu had so many options that sounded delicious it was very hard to choose. Astha took my order and was very nice. Estimated wait time was 25 minutes as I walked in, but definitely worth the wait.

This place is so good!! Was looking for a new place to try for my mom's birthday this year and came across The Himalayan Flames. Our family really enjoyed this meal! The ambience and music were very nice when we walked in and our servers were extremely kind. We ordered a number of dishes to try family style. Overall, I will say the portions were much smaller than most South Asian restaurants we are used to, but the flavors were incredible and we didn't mind. This definitely felt like a more high end south Asian dining experience. Looking at the menu, it was exciting to see such a variety of options - there was definitely something for everyone! We started off with some shared appetizers, including the pani puri, gobi manchurian, papadum, and chicken egg drop soup. All of these were great! We also had the Sherpa sizzler, which would be a great portion size for one entree. Our other entrees included the reshami kabob, salmon tikka, lamb korma, and saag paneer. For sides we had the garlic naan and the Himalayan flames naan. Our favorites were definitely the salmon tikka and lamb korma! The flavors were amazing. We also preferred the garlic naan. Overall definitely want to come back to try some of the items from the snowy Himalayas menu!

The food was AMAZING! If you are looking Indian food this is the perfect place. I got the rustic kadai, and it was very delicious with the basmati rice and the naan. The Andhra curry was on the spicier side but it was manageable for anyone who has a reasonable spice tolerance and garlic naan
Service was also fast and the interior was cute and modern. A lot of natural lighting and cute. I can only image how the restaurant looks at night with the downtown view around. Michigan Ave is a beautiful area to be!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jan 19, 2024
I keep coming back here and enjoy it everytime. The food is bursting with flavor and once I start I can't stop. I've had several curries the samosas naan breads etc. I always get a mango Lasse (basic I know), the chicken 65 is an explosion of flavor and a fantastic appetizer. Stop in here for amazing flavors, and a cool environment. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Seriously, the best vegetable korma and butter paneer ever made. This place has become my favorite restaurant. Very reasonable prices and each meal is enough for 2. The samosas and samosa chaat are also really good, and the mint chutney is delicious. Highly recommended.
