Unsavory business practices, do not return phone calls or emails. Paperwork, lease agreements and other documentation are not done properly or timely. Rents are collected and are not disbursed to the owners. Tenants request for repairs are not responded to in a timely fashion. It does not matter if you are a property owner or a potential renter, STAY AWAY from this real estate group and there unscrupulous practices. Worst experience every and I have owned rental property for over a dozen years.
Please note zero stars is not an option or that would be my rating.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Derek G.Santee, CA30621Feb 1, 2023
If I could choose no stars I would. THE RELEFORD GROUP is the most unprofessional business I have ever dealt with and I am not a tenant I am the owner of 6 units that they are the property managers of. I would advise no one use them for any services as they will not reply to emails, text or answer the phone. I am not an overbearing owner or unrealistic these are very basic questions I am asking like when will I receive the rents they collected from my tenants and they don't even have the common courtesy to reply. If I had to guess they are involved in some very sketchy business practices most likely paying owners last month draws with current months rents, there is no other explanation.

nothing but scamers, we were good tenants and was only late on rent once in the 18months we rented from them. they don't return calls/emails or messages when you are already moved out they don't follow up with about anything to do with your deposit. straight theft not an idemized list of damages or charges they took all of it. If I don't get a check or a honest list from these people I already have proceeded with the application to take them to court, I have proof of everything and you guys will be charged it's honestly it's been 3 months since moving out and not heard a damn word. heres some words for you guys "see you guys in the small claims court soon.

And we appreciate you, Starr! Although some time has passed, I just wanted to let you know it's been a pleasure to work with you for all those years. It's easy to communicate with awesome clients like you. If you ever need anything in the future, you know where to find us.

RENTERS BEWARE, we were with them for 5 years but they took $335 out of our deposit for cleaning at the end. My wife and I followed their printed instructions to include: touch up painting the walls, fixing nail holes (that were there when we signed for it), and cleaning each room; Nothing was left untouched. And nothing was noted at the walk through. They have a practice of doing a "2nd" walk through without you present and justify calling a cleaning service without giving you the chance to clean (what wasn't found in the first inspection). As I wrote this review my wife researched and saw a pattern of other renters are being treated the same. We can't speak for them but we took extra care to clean the house out. The home was going up for sale so we had periodic walk throughs, potential buyers even complimented us on how clean it was. Releford group sets the standard in shady business practices, BEWARE.
Home owners should also beware, RG also chose to overlook reported repairs at the end of our lease and then charged us $75 for a sprinkler head. I'll spend my remaining years in service warning service members and families about their poor business practices.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

We'd never take out money from a deposit if it wasn't necessary, Kurt. I completely understand the frustration, but we have guidelines on what the home should look like toward the end. It sounds like there was some confusion and maybe lack of communication on our end, and for that, I'm sorry. I know some time has passed, but I'd love to discuss your concerns so we can take some of the worries away. Please contact me at 254-554-3568 at your earliest convenience. I'm always here to help. -Best, Marvis R., Broker

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE RENTING FROM THEM!!!!!
was with the releford group for 2 years and they started out friendly and talked about how they hate when soldiers and their families get taken advantage of and how they are prior military and are willing to work with military schedules and will help with everything
BUT but once we got our apartment they took forever to do repairs. had to put in multiple work orders to get things fixed. Their receptionist was very rude and unprofessional.
we decided to leave them cause they would charge us for everything they did. they give 1 day notice for pest control or mantancence and we were not there when they showed up they billed us for us not being home. even when you call to reschedule they would not work with you even if you are military. less then 24 hrs notices is not enough time to change your schedule especially when they leave notes on the door after 6pm. and expect someone to be home the morning of
upon moving our they refused to give us our deposit and charged us another $800. they said they apartment was damaged. we gave the apartment back in better condition we received it. they charging us for unpaid utilities when I paid the electric and water. they refuse to show me a bill for the water and electric that they say we did not pay. and proved proof that we paid the bills but claimed they are being charged. the charged us for cleaning and carpet cleaning even though I have a receipt they were cleaned. they billing us for repairs they say they did when they did not make any repairs. I know this cause I went back to my old apartment and took pictures from the outside and then windows and the did not do any repairs they claim. replacing window blinds and window screens. I went there and sat with my neighbor for 5 days that they said they sent someone to clean and no one ever showed up to clean. the apartment has been vacant 2 months and they same pictures I took on the move out inspection of blinds and screen are the same today. no repairs but being billed for them I did all this cause I knew what they did to one of my neighbors so I wanted proof to take to court cause I knew they would bill me outrages charges like they did my old neighbor. I will definitely be going to court and fight for my deposit. all they want is to take money from soldiers.
BEWARE WHEN RENTING FROM THEM!!!! taking pictures of everything and make sure you write everything down on the move in inspection form. even if it as small as a chip paint or crack in the floor or they window screen in bent. to the number of nail holes in the wall. if there was dirt or dead bugs. if you think it nothing, to them it is a big deal and you will end up paying for it when you move out.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
