Tidewater Roofing

Tidewater roofing showed great promise when the ice shield was built to stop a leak in the house. Less than 2 years later the issue I had with that spot started again. Called them and they came right away. All I wanted to know from them was if there work had a warranty. Over a month later Homer finally got back to me and said it wasn't under warranty because they repaired it.
Bottom line this company dodged me for over a month to tell me they won't warranty it and I have to pay. Every week I called, was told Homer or someone else would call me back. Never received any calls, had to keep trying. Then a few days ago I got an email from Homer, obviously an email because he didn't want to speak with me over the phone, even though I've been very understanding with them. Not professional at all. I was also going to have them install another ice shield and fix the roof above my sunroom, so more business for Tidewater roofing.
I don't ever leave negative reviews of people, but this company ghosted me for over a month and doesn't warranty their own work for more than a year and calls it a repair. I would hate to be someone with a roof issue with this company that they didn't install properly.

Like I said they seemed good at first, but once there is an issue with their workmanship they might ghost you, very sad. Picture shows their installation of the ice shield, I would recommend only using a company that stands by their work and addresses the issue, or at least let their customers know they won't fix the issue within a timely manner, not over a month.

This was a very disappointing experience. We were promised no leaking and a 2 year warranty ...but what they assured us they did - didn't fix our problem. They promised a water test after their first shoddy job didn't work - but the guy never showed up. Then they sent someone else who seemed good but apparently quit the next day - They don't return calls and no one ever delivered the extra materials we paid for after several promises. No photos were ever given to us after being promised to us many times.
The list goes on and on but too much detail for a quick review. We hesitate to negatively blast a company ... but we feel that people should be informed. So not fair.

Worse customer service I have encountered. As a sub to a gutter company they replaced 18 ft of flashing where a gutter was; Glass enclosed patio connecting to the house. I also contracted with them to do some minor roof repair, while they were replacing the flashing. Although the day they replaced it it was drizzling their crew did finish the work. A couple days later it rained and the leak was still there. I called and the female who answered the phone asked if this was an emergency or part of warranty work. I said part of warranty work. She took all the information and said someone will get back to me. NEVER HAPPEN. I then email them and attached a small P4 clip of the leak. 2 weeks went by, I then called the Gutter contractor and they again took the information and said they would check with Tidewater roofing to see if they got my email and to have them get back to me to come out and look. NEVER HAPPEN. I finally got up on the roof myself (I'm 73 years old) and used 2 cans of Flex Seal and sprayed everything where they installed the flashing. NO MORE LEAK for now. And too add insult to injury, their accounting department sends me a bill 30 days later for the roof repair which I PAID immediately after the repair. Had to send them proof that I paid.
When it comes time for roof repair or a new roof you better believe Tidewater Roofing will not be one of the ones I call. They need to clean up their customer service.

Steve completely blew my appointment off, but his behavior likely lost him the job anyways.

I called and scheduled someone to look at repairs needed for my roof. I was assured that despite the company being located in Hampton, there was someone who covered Virginia Beach so it would be an easy fit. The female who scheduled my appointment was great. She set me up for a 3:30 appointment with Steve a few days later.

The day of the appointment, I leave work early to get to the appointment but Steve calls me after I leave work asking if we can reschedule to another day. I said no as I had to use leave to get off of work already. He said he would still come but it would take at least an hour. He said he had been calling me all day but it went straight to voicemail? Why didn't he leave a voicemail? He calls again saying it's going to be even later, to which I told him he'd have to wait until the next contractor coming to my house to finish. He then asked again if I could do another day and I told him I could do 4:30 any day but he found no such appointments. Then he eventually said he could do Saturday ANY TIME. I begrudgingly picked a time. He never showed up. He never answered his phone when I called.

Thanks for wasting my leave hours and my Saturday.

We have not seen the actual re-roofing of our townhouse but we went with Tidewater Roofing because we felt their price was fair and gave us an accurate appraisal of our roof's status. They were going to replace the roof sections of our neighbors, and based on the age of our roof, so we said ok. They would be the first folks we will call if we ever need roofing services again.

Okay, we all know that replacing a roof is an important thing. Getting the right company to do it is critical. You pay a lot for the roof and it needs to last. You depend on the company to get it done right. This is where Tidewater Roofing made a difference for me. I did get several estimates. I looked online and asked friends. Tidewater Roofing was dependable and timing in everything they did for me. When they came with the crew, it was a well oiled machine. These gentlemen were hard working and considerate to my home. I have an extensive landscaped yard. They were thoughtful in how they went about replacing the roof. If you have owned a home for any length of time, replacing a roof in inevitable. So you won't it right! I got the nicest roof and got the best job!! They replaced several sheets of plywood as well. Their cost did not change over the original estimate. They did an unbelievable job cleaning any debris. They have this machine with a magnet that picks up any nails.. etc. They replaced my roof 4 years ago. To this day I have probably only found maybe 5 nails left behind. That is amazing. I have referred them since and will continue to reply on them in the future. We cannot say enough good things about this company! We received excellent customer service, someone was always there to answer our questions, or returned our phone calls promptly. The crew arrived right on time on the day of installation, went right to work and had the new roof done in 3 hours. They really helped us to take care of our leaking problem around the chimney, even installed a custom flashing, so we don't have this problem again. We would certainly recommend this roofing company to anyone needing a new roof.
