Tierra Linda Landscape

Tierra Linda was great from start to finish! Daniel (owner) and his employees were on my property for approximately 3 weeks to complete my project. Everyone worked well together. I made a change by adding another 300 square ft of pavers right when the project started. But Daniel stayed right on schedule.

Very pleased how it all turned out. I wouldn't hesitate to hire Tierra Linda in the future!

My backyard patio and lawn were in need of an update. My friend's just had their backyard redone with pavers, and I loved the look of them. I had been researching patio/artificial grass ideas myself, and of course, looking on-line at various sites for ideas.
I decided to call Tierra Linda Landscape, because this was the company that did my friends' patio.
Daniel came to my house and we talked about our ideas for my backyard. He was very knowledgeable and informative. He took some measurements of the yard, and emailed me a couple of quotes (for several ideas that we discussed) the next day. To be honest, I didn't realize all the labor that goes into making a patio with pavers! They did a lot of prep work to make sure there would be good drainage, since my patio usually became a pond when it rained!!
Long story short, Daniel and his crew did an amazing job! The crew were polite, cleaned up nicely before they left every day. Daniel kept in touch with me either in person, text, and/or phone call. The project was more expensive than I thought it would be, but I did get other quotes from two other landscape companies, and the prices were in the same ball park.
So I went with Tierra Linda Landscape Company since he had done work for my friends and they recommended them.
And now, I would highly recommend them.

Daniel and his team did a great job of installing our patio pavers. The entire process went smoothly and in a timely manner, from the planning to construction. We believe that the overall costs were reasonable. We couldn't be more pleased with the results.

My husband and I had some hill erosion issues that needed taken care of as soon as possible. Tierra Linda handled it perfectly!

After receiving a few quotes from a few different companies, my husband and I liked Daniel and felt his approach seemed most honest and effective for our issue. He didn't go overboard and over estimate what we needed done (as other companies seemed to do).

Daniel's crew was very friendly and professional. It was amazing. They worked very hard and the work which we assumed was going to take awhile only ended up taking one day!

Daniel is extremely knowledgeable about plants, and how those can control/contribute to erosion and gave us many options in plants we could use for our project. It was nice to have this knowledge and these options, and also nice that we were able to make some of these decisions ourselves.

They not only added the plants, but structurally added some great protection for our neighbor's water buildup problem for next time it rains. It has not rained yet, so I can't tell you how great it's held up, but the plants are doing well and his instructions for after care were great!

Daniel and his team are absolutely incredible. I had a rough time trying to find the right company for a landscaping and irrigation project I had - in both the front and back yard, but luckily I found Tierra Linda Landscaping, and the process was extremely easy from them on out.

The work was done very fast, it was fair priced, and the final product is beautiful.

My wife and I bought a 30 year-old home in Encinitas in 2019 located on two acres of land with three large areas of grass. The landscape and irrigation system remained as-is for 30 years with only basic weekly maintenance.

We decided to have the landscape and irrigation system for the entire property redesigned to reduce water consumption. We engaged a professional landscape architect that worked with us on a design that would greatly reduce the amount of grass and incorporate different varieties of drought tolerant plants.

For the construction phase of the project, we chose Tierra Linda Landscape owned and managed by Daniel Montano. Daniel had come to our rescue in November 2020 when his crew reconstructed the drains on the property. Daniel impressed us with his wide range of experience in all aspects of landscape construction and he was a real pleasure to work with.

Upon reviewing the drawings from the landscape architect, Daniel found the designer had incorporated about twice the number of plants that would actually be needed and recommended we reduce the scale of the project. He also recommended a different irrigation system with 18 zones (in place of 30) that would be less costly to construct and operate using a WiFi enabled RainBird controller. When is the last time you had a contractor talk you out of spending more money?

He told us the project would take 4-6 weeks with his crew working Monday-Saturday. True to his word, the crew led by his foreman Luis showed up with all their gear including their own porta potty two weeks after signing the contract and worked 8AM-4PM each day with a crew of 4-6 people. As each area Daniel and the team made sure to closely communicate with us, confirming any explaining any decisions being made. The entire project was completed in just about 4 weeks.

Transformative would be an understatement. We are delighted with the final results. Daniel and the Tierra Linda team implemented the plan perfectly even adding suggested improvements. We now have a beautifully landscaped property with an abundance of plants and flower all while consuming less than half the water than our old yard.

One final story, I made a mistake recording the progress payments and was about to make a final payment that was $15K more than what it should have been. Daniel caught the mistake and told me I missed one of the checks that I had given him. Another contractor would have just kept his mouth shut and hoped that the customer wouldn't discover the overpayment.

In summary, if you need an experienced, trustworthy landscape contractor that will provide the highest quality results, Tierra Linda Landscape and Daniel Montano must be your first and perhaps only call.

Great work, was done quick and clean.

Removed a ton of weeds and other invasive plants from my hill. Did some other general clean up.

Built a nice rock wall to hold back the bottom of the hill and rain from my walkway.

Overall very pleased.

We had a small project which made it hard for us to find a contractor. Daniel came out to our home, looked at what we wanted done and gave us advice. He does not advertise so all his referrals are by reputation. So, you know he is good. He gave us an estimate and we accepted it. It took a few months to start the project because he is so busy.

After his crew started the project, they were here everyday and on time. They were very efficient in the work they were doing. Everyone knew their job, were trained to do multiple tasks to complete the project and seemed to work well with each other. They were a team. We have dogs so it was important to us to have them clean-up everyday before they left. They left our yard very clean everyday when they left. Daniel came out to our home everyday and at times worked with his crew as well as supervise. You cannot go wrong by hiring them for your project.

If you want the job done right, use this company! Daniel and his crew were on top of it every step of the way. I needed a new retaining wall, a drip irrigation system, upgraded sprinkler heads adjusted to water the lawn properly, new plants, and mulch to cover all my flower beds and they did it all. Worth every penny. Thanks Tierra Linda!
