I've searched high and low for a particular merot finishing on a black sheer-ish fortuny pleat summer panel dress I purchased from a New Zealand website.. {Yea why New Zealand!?} to fit my petit size Found Lisa at International Pleating!!! She was so easygoing and nice over the phone explaining the ability to stop by and take a look though I was reluctant to zigzag all over the island again.. I did.
They are awesome! Turned around the hemming over the weekend (They CALLED me when the job was done) and the "pearl" merot stitches on both panel hem - perfection. Could have asked for a better experience. Lisa is the sweetest person to deal with to boot. And all for the usual going price of hemming of $25 to boot. Makes me want to get more fortuny pleat pieces for the summer:)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jenine J.Pasadena, Los Angeles, CA11413Mar 6, 2015First to Review
I'm in LA and I chose Int'l Pleating instead of the pleating companies in LA because they have better prices and I love the work I saw on their Instagram and website.
George was super helpful, knowledgeable, and I got exactly what I wanted. I will be ordering more pieces to complete my senior collection!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Katiana R.Odessa, FL04Dec 15, 2016
I was fascinated the first time I saw the movie "Confessions of a Shopaholic". My immediate reaction was to shop for the infamous "green scarf". Incessantly and tirelessly, I looked for years. Up until about a month ago, when I finally found it on etsy.com but decided to buy directly from Tom's Sons International Pleating, in New York. I'm so glad I did. I love my beautiful, long, supple all made out of silk (for a small extra), green scarf. For all the girls out there looking for this scarf, you won't be disappointed, if you order and buy this scarf from this seller.
Lisa Conrad was amazing. Very communicative. Always kept updating me through emails.
All in all, great scarf, great customer service.

George is very rude, presumptuous and unhelpful. Before giving us a chance to explain ourselves properly, he spoke over us and told us what he thinks should be done. He only knows what he knows and not wiling to listen and understand something that is unfamiliar to him. There are others in the business who are more creative and helpful.

I am a student at Parsons and I always use International Pleating for my garments. I first saw their work through an internship for a local designer, and then I chose to use them for my own work. They have great quality and a sweet staff. I can see myself using them for my thesis!

George was so amazingly helpful in creating the pleats for my wedding dress. I wanted something very avant-garde -- metallic gold pleats intertwined with off-white silk pleats. Needless to say, it was complicated. A friend who had offered to make and hand pleat my dress completely ruined about $300 of silk. George, with his wealth of knowledge, saved my dress. I bought new fabric and he advised me on the best pleats for my dress as well as some construction tips to pass on to my dress maker. I would definitely recommend seeing George BEFORE you start your project and invest in fabric. He can help you troubleshoot the construction and advise you on the best materials and techniques to achieve the result you want. I'm a huge textile nerd, so I could talk to George about pleats forever. I wish I had more pleating projects to take to International Pleating just so I could talk pleats again! Also, his turnaround and pricing was very reasonable.

A friend recommended these guys to me after I had taken a pair of crinkled pants to the dry cleaner only to have them flattened out and essentially ruined. I spoke to George at International Pleating who showed me samples of other crushed fabrics they had done but none of them were quite what I was looking for. Nevertheless, I gave them the trousers and a photo of what they had used to look like which was apparently all they needed. Somehow they got the pants back to their original crinkled state. I was a little surprised actually as the pants original crinkle was very meticulously designed in Sweden and I did not expect them to be salvageable. But they did it and it was perfect. They kept me well updated the whole way through and have excellent response time--can't recommend them highly enough.
