They do a nice job, I just get super tired of being told how I need to stop drinking soda and hydrate (when I don't drink soda). It was honestly hounding bout my skin condition (I literally see a derm every 4 months), and I paid $150 for Mani and Pedi before my flight. 4 days in and the gel I paid an extra $20 is peeling off.
It's hard to want to keep coming in when I feel like shit when I leave. I think I could save money and not be verbally berated for dry skin I can't change. Just food for thought for those looking, this isn't the first time it's happened which now is a pretty harsh pattern and is not acceptable. Super sad that any client would be made to feel badly. I'm looking for a regular spot so anyone reading this I love a nice pedicure!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 2 - Kristen S.Chicago, IL732950Oct 20, 2022Updated review
I've been going here for awhile now and I have to say as a regular, I don't think I can go back. I booked an appointment for a full set with gel manicure. Whether the lady on the phone heard me correctly or not isn't the issue. I normally see Michael and I had shown him a picture of a red French manicure with two fingers with blood drips for Halloween. I already had acrylic on and had mentioned that one of my nails had broken. Instead of doing a full set, Michael had done a fill. This normally is fine, however with a French manicure, it is pretty obvious where the line is. I was hoping the clear pink he was putting on would be enough to cover it up, but it wasn't. I was unhappy with the final look and brought it to his attention. Michael was upset because I didn't say anything sooner and said I wasted his time. I said I would compensate him for his time, but he didn't care. The lines were very noticeable and I don't understand how he could send someone out like that. Yes, I could have said something sooner, but quite frankly Michael has never been approachable or a warm person. At checkout, I told them I would pay for a full set and the fill, but they wouldn't let me. I ended up giving him a large tip.
I'm pretty embarrassed by the experience. I don't think it was appropriate of Michael to scold me like that. To tell your customer they are wasting your time is never ok. I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 because it's Michael that was the issue and not the business.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jun 4, 2021Previous reviewFirst time here and it was a pleasant experience. I got acrylic ombré French manicure. Lucy listened to all of my wants and needs for my nails. It was $61 just for my nails (which I thought was incredibly pricey), but overall worth it. Will definitely go back!

Set up 4 appointment online, got to the appointment receptionist says we don't have your appointment you'll have to wait but I'll try to get you in quick. She was at least nice. Finally get in for a pedicure and the tech was rushed. Unfortunately she did my manicure also. See pics below one day later. Ridiculous that all my nails are chipping off. My daughter had an appointment also and her tech got up five times to go wait on other customers. She finally left in the middle of her pedicure. We will never go back!

Went in for a mani/pedi to treat myself before giving birth 3 days later. Little did I know this pedicure was going to give me more pain than my c-section. They ended up giving me 3rd degree chemical burn on my leg and ankle from getting callus cream on it and then wrapping it in the bag with the wax. Most excruciating pain. I think having antibiotics from my c-section saved it from getting worse thank god. I called them back the day it happened after I made it home to look at the damage. They asked me to come back and all they did was refund me for just my pedicure not even my entire visit. She took my name and number because she said she'd follow up to see how I was doing and never heard anything. For such a "high end" pricey salon, I expected more! Highly disappointed and never going back.

My girlfriend came here and was to scared to write a review or bring it to the salons attention so I will. What happened to her should not have to happen to other people. She went in got a full set and the lady doing her nails didn't say a word to her the whole time besides for asking what color she wanted. Even when she cut my girlfriends finger she didn't say anything but she was clearly bleeding and now her finger is badly infected so to the cut. She had to go to urgent care and get anabiotic's.

This entire experience was a mess. I've called and emailed the business asking to speak to a manager and no one ever gets back to me. I had an appointment for a gel manicure on my natural nails. When I arrived, my nail tech didn't want to do my nails because he wasn't comfortable working on short nails. He asked other employees to switch with him and they said no as they were already doing services on other clients. It was super uncomfortable for me as a client to have him trying to pass me off to other people. The management should never have given me a nail tech who wasn't comfortable doing the service that I was there for. He kept wiping the polish off of my nails and starting over and it kept being so lumpy and uneven that he did a few coats of gel and then used the drill over the top of the gel and it left my nails very damaged as the gel polish was pushed down into my nails and as it's chipping off, the surface layer of my nail is chipping off with the polish since he drilled the polish into it.

I've been here before, and the experience has been fine, but I did not have a good experience here with a particular nail tech, Tiffany. First of all she ripped skin off around my toenail, and it was very painful. Then, the nail drill that she used was very rough and uncomfortable on my fingernails. I get my nails done all the time and have never experienced anything like that before. She was unfriendly, and the whole job seemed rushed and the polish was not carefully applied to my nails. The edges do not look neat. Disappointing overall and not a relaxing experience.

Had never been to this salon before, but a friend wanted to meet here for a friend date so I got a gel manicure, it was $31. It took about 10 minutes and the results were beautiful. The interior of the salon was very spacious and classy looking, a very welcoming atmosphere and the people were friendly and professional although there was definitely a language barrier. Would return in the future!

Every time I get my nails done here, they do an excellent job! Every nail technician is amazing. I usually stick to one person, but at Upscale Nail & Spa, I just take the next person available! The salon itself is very nice and inviting. I would recommend this place to anyone that appreciates consistently great service!
