Again: delicious, delicious, delicious. Now the BBQ is open and is unbelievably tasty!
I do not know why the service is so poor!? Quite rude and incompetent....
It is a pity for such a nice place. It seems the food and the surrounding nature are more important for everybody (including me) than the quality of people. Even now there are much more people (and young one).... Strange for me.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jun 23, 2016Previous reviewNice, nice, nice!
This is the only Heuriger I have been that is inside the vineyard, like a French Chateau. This is my last year's discovery and this one I visit it 3 times already. I like almost everything there:
1. The place:
It is situated on a hill in 19th district of Vienna with a picturesque view over the city. The tables are under the trees; on the grass; surrounded by vines.... it is so calm and relaxing.... and perfect place for the hot summer evenings which already came to Vienna, because of the cool air blowing from time to time.
There is a lot of space between the tables ( not crowded as the other Heuriger) and even an off-the-cuff play area for the children.
2. The Food:
Freshmade, traditional food + some specialities that the chef of the kitchen (I suppose the wife of the owner) prepares amazing! Everything is cooked same day, just before the opening (17:00) and if you go around 17:30 - 18:00 dishes will be as hot as you can not keep them in the mouth. No food from the previous day. The quantity of the cooked food sometimes is not enough for everybody but First come, first serve :)
I tasted all these specialities and I like the Spinach strudels, Lasagne and especially the Schnitzel. I know Schnitzel is all around Vienna, but .... I suppose most of the restaurants use pre-fabricated ones delivered by catering companies. Here there is nothing like this. If you order a Schnitzel, you have to wait 15-20 minutes but you get a real Schnitzel from fresh, juicy meat. And if you go to the buffet for sorting else, after you have ordered Schnitzel you will hera the hummer knocking on the meat....
Also, I like very much the ribs there, as they are natural, just grilled on the BBQ.
And of course you can drink in-house made wine.
3. The service:
Well, I still can not use to the Heuriger service organisation: drinks brought by a waiter, food take-it-alone. May be there is a reason for that but I could ot discover it. The whole team are quite friendly but I think they are too less to serve so big area and guests. If you order drinks, you have to wait a while. So, definitely they have to improve the service (but may be as their main business is wine producing and they are not concentrated in the restaurant matters ...). And they do not accept credit cards. Just bankomat ones. - Mairead W.Dublin, Republic of Ireland325Apr 26, 2015

My family has been coming here for ages and whenever I show it to someone new they love it. The food is great and cheap, the wine is homemade, and you have this incredible view over vienna. It has a great garden and many tables inside and is equally well suited to a romantic evening and to a party with friends. Reserve a table over the phone and bring insect repellent.
