we love yakyudori when craving a late night comfort meal! the ambiance is lively as this restaurant is usually pretty busy, despite being in a quieter part of convoy. you order on an ipad which is convenient, and the staff are always really friendly and attentive!
we've tried the spicy tonkotsu ramen, spicy miso ramen, takoyaki, kushi katsu chicken, pork belly, fried wings, and chicken katsu bowl. our favorite was the ramen, both were simple yet delicious with noodles that were the perfect chewy texture. we also really enjoyed the takoyaki, which had great flavor, and the chicken katsu which was crispy and delicious!
we always enjoy coming here and will definitely be back to tty more of the menu!

Came in on a Friday night and didn't have to wait too long to get seated. The place is nice and clean. Ordering is done through a tablet, likely due to COVID and service was very nice here. Ordered the karaage, chicken heart, gizzard, and beef skewers.
The kaarage was served very simply - with kewpie mayo, ponzu, and a lemon wedge. I think in this case, it doesn't need anything else. The chicken was fried well - each piece was nicely golden, crispy, and juicy, which is all you can ask for in karaage! If anything, I personally thought it could have used a touch more salt, but it was very solid!
The beef was tender and succulent. The chicken heart and gizzard were lean, chewy, and very solid. These skewers were seasoned well and had good grill flavor! Overall, I would definitely come back here next time I'm in the area and have a yakitori/niku craving!!

I came here for an early dinner and a craving for yakitori skewers. However, my favorite dish actually ended being the sawagani crabs! The tiny little crabs are deep fried and served with lemon and salt and were soooooo tasty... I have always wanted to try them and was so surprised to see that this restaurant had them. They are 4 for $6 if I can remember correctly, but it was worth the price and I would definitely order them again.

For the yakitori, we ordered the chicken thigh, chicken liver, and beef tongue. They all had a nice smokey charcoal flavor, but could have used a bit more salt. Out of the three, the beef tongue was a bit tough (and it also was bit pricey) so I probably wouldn't order that one again. However, the chicken yakitori were good, so I would probably stick to ordering those next time. The skewers in general are rather expensive for the amount, so I recommend to not come super hungry or to order a more filling dish to accompany them

This place uses tablets to order, but they also offer plenty of specials and deals in the signage around the restaurant. If you want to take advantage of any of those deals and make sure to ask your server personally and they will put them in for you so you get the discount. Overall, I would definitely come back to eat here as late lunch/early dinner in the future.

This was probably my 4th time here and will be back. Very friendly staffs and quick service. Tablet system is really convenient and easy to use. Food come out quick and hot. I've been here 4 times and every time food was 10/10, never disappointed. It's a little pricey in my opinion, but trust me it's worth it.

My how I've missed this place. Pre-covid, I used to come here all the time for Ramen. I actually haven't been back until recently, when I saw that they've switched to tablet style ordering. I came here one night because I wanted to get some yakitori and because a certain "go-to spot" down the street (by Original Pancake house) had incorrect hours listing on Yelp.

Regardless, it was good that I stopped by and tried out their yakitori here. It wasn't on the cheap side, but it was definitely on the delicious side. Let's just say I was so hungry, I almost ordered the entire yakitori menu. Everything I'm about to post here was delicious. Try it out!

I have been a customer of Yakiudori for close to 16 years when we moved to the neighborhood. This was the go-to Japanese restaurant for lunch, with great ramen bowls, specials, decor with plenty of personality and a cool, bustling vibe. The staff were attentive and helpful.
      What happened?
Post Covid, the restaurant has had a schizophrenic change of personality. Gone is the upbeat and quirky decor of Japanese beer posters and Gisha ladies. There are no more handheld menus. In their stead are dark booths and walls stripped bare. One orders by the use of a single electronic menu on the table which makes ordering an annoyance when there are 4 people waiting their turn to look at, decide, and order. There was no interaction with a server until the food was served.
3 of us ordered a couple of appetizers (fried calamri, and fried Shumai), along with a Spicy Miso, a Katsu chicken bowl, and a Karage chicken bowl. The bowls arrived at the table about 5 minutes apart, and before the appetizers.
There were no condiments on the table except salt and something that looked like finely ground red pepper.. If you wanted any sauce you had to order it.
My Miso was excellent. The Karage chicken bowl was underwhelming, the chicken overcooked, the overall taste being bland. The Katsu chicken bowl was also mediocre, again being dry and bland.
Once we hit the electronic menu to pay we were reminded that there actually were servers in the restaurant when he silently put the bill on the table and hurried away.

      Bottom line?
There are many more Japanese restaurants in the area that have great food and don't make you feel like a leper. I suggest you keep looking.

A dark and barren decor that reflects the sterile ambiance.
      An excellent Spicy Miso soup.

Introverts dream. You get handed an iPad to order and pretty much ask for a waitress when needed. Spicy ramen was pretty good, not too spicy, lips burn more than anything.

To be honest, we chose this place because we wouldn't have to wait for a table. I'm so glad we chose it, and could never have predicted that this would've been the one of the best meals of our entire trip. The interior is decorated with a casual Izakaya vibe and features fun and upbeat music. You place your orders using tablet and small plates for sharing families seller brought out very quickly. My favorites were the beef yakitori, the soy, wasabi, fried chicken wings, the agedashi tofu and miso glazed eggplant. Both the beef yakitori, and the wasabi chicken wings had the most beautiful and light wasabi flavor, not like other wasabi flavored things that I've had that kick you in the face, clear your sinuses out, then make you pay a fine. This wasabi flavor is not like one of those strong, wasabi flavors. It is incredibly light, and mostly on the nose, and is actually extremely delicate and refreshing. The agedashi tofu was a comforting and piping hot soft tofu dish that I really enjoyed.

I haven't been here for about 2 years because the last time I was here I felt like the food wasn't as good as it usually is and that maybe they got a new chef (it was 2020). But I came back for dinner tonight and wow! Everything was absolutely delicious! We ordered the beef skewers, chicken katsu bowl, salmon roe bowl, shishito peppers, fried gyoza, and garlic skewers. Everything was 10/10. They served the gyoza with real wasabi &The peppers with freshly grated ginger. They updated their system so you order on an iPad and it's much more efficient! Happy to say that I will be coming back more often again :)
