Description

description in French  Welcome to Martigues Tourist Office
In 2002, the tourist office was moved to the Maison du Tourisme - one of the last stages in a major urban development project around the town hall which brings together La Halle (shows, trade fairs, conventions), the Galérie de l'Histoire, the Hôtel de Police, the Hôtel du Conseil de Territoire Pays de Martigues and the Hôtel Ibis.
It is just a few minutes walk from the historical Ile district.

The Syndicat d'Initiative, created in 1951, became officially known as the Office de Tourisme in 1993. It greets visitors and advises them before and during their trip to Martigues and Provence. It is open every day from June to September and from Monday to Saturday the rest of the year.

The 80 m² reception hall has three areas which are clearly identified by signs over the reception desk:
- the main reception with free internet access
- the ticket office and boutique with a variety of products
- the lounge where visitors can relax and take the time they need to read the documents available and use the free WiFi. A colouring-in and reading area for children.
The Office de Tourisme et des Congrès de Martigues is only open from 9am to 1pm on public holidays.

- By bike: bicycle parking is provided in front of the tourist office.
- By Bus: the Ulysse local bus service and the Cartreize departmental bus service stop in front of the police station and the town hall, 250 m from the tourist office.
- By boat: the landing stage for the free maritime shuttle which links the three districts of the city is 200 m behind the town hall.
- By train: the two railway stations (TER Marseille Miramas, almost 20 trains every day) in the Croix Sainte and Lavéra districts are accessible via the local bus system.
The Office de Tourisme et des Congrès de Martigues is only open from 9am to 1pm on public holidays.
