On Monday, at about 2:31 p.m., Mooresville Fire-Rescue responded to a fire in the 400 block of South Broad Street. Several people called 911 and reported seeing smoke and flames at Two Fingers Automotive.
Engine 1 arrived on scene within three minutes of being dispatched and saw heavy black smoke. Ladders 5 and 6, Engines 3 and 4, as well as Rescue1 responded to the scene and began extinguishing the fire. The Mooresville Fire Marshal’s Office began investigating the fire while Mooresville Police Department officers shut down South Broad Street between West Wilson and West Mills avenues. Firefighters extinguished the fire by 3:04 p.m.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. One person sustained a minor cut to their hand and declined treatment on scene.
