In 2018, Da Nang University of Technology recruited 150 slots for Information Technology (IT) majors through a special mechanism.

According to Associate Professor Doan Quang Vinh, Rector of Da Nang University of Technology: The demand for IT human resources in Da Nang City is very high, especially from Japanese enterprises. Therefore, to meet this market demand, in 2018, Da Nang University of Technology recruited more than 300 slots for IT majors (previously 250 slots).

Of these, there were 150 slots for traditional IT majors, 45 slots for high-quality IT majors trained according to the Japanese market orientation (students must study Japanese language programs supported by some Japanese enterprises). Additionally, the university also offers a high-quality Engineer program, Vietnam - France (40 slots for software engineering majors).

A special feature in the academic year 2018-2019, implementing Official Letter 5444 of the Ministry of Education and Training on specialized training for IT majors, Da Nang University of Technology signed agreements with enterprises to train 90 slots for IT majors under a special mechanism.

National Economics University will implement and standardize the IT level according to international standards for its students in the upcoming academic years. On February 5th, the National Economics University signed a cooperation agreement on implementing and standardizing IT training programs with ICDL Organization. The event was attended by Ms. Cait Moran - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Ireland to Vietnam.

ICDL (International Computer Driving Licence) is an international standard for computer skills, currently being implemented in over 150 countries, 41 languages, with over 24,000 examination centers and over 15 million candidates. The headquarters of the Organization is located in Dublin, Ireland.

ICDL is deployed, organized and operated globally on the basis of Quality Management System according to ISO 9001-2008 standard, continuously updated, closely following technical changes in the IT industry and market demands. The formation and development process of the Information Technology Faculty can be divided into two stages as follows:

Stage 1: From 1999 to 2005.

• The Information Technology Faculty was established on July 5, 1999, according to Decision No. 115/TCHC of the Rector of Hanoi Industrial College. At the time of establishment, the Faculty had only 07 teachers equipped with over 20 computers with a large and new workload. The faculty members focused a lot of effort on building the Faculty. That year, the faculty recruited 6 high school classes and 7 college classes.

Stage 2: From 2005 to the present

• After Decision No. 315/2005 QD/TTG dated December 2, 2005 of the Prime Minister on the establishment of Hanoi Industrial University on the basis of Hanoi Industrial College, from here the Faculty of Information Technology has the additional function of undergraduate training.

The Faculty of Information Technology has the function of training IT human resources, currently the faculty has college, undergraduate, transfer from Intermediate to University and transfer from College to University, Master. Along with training, the faculty also has the task of scientific research. Every year, the faculty has many scientific research works to serve teaching and learning in the faculty as well as in the school.

On October 15, 2007, the University signed a cooperation agreement in training and scientific research with the IT Institute to cooperate and help the faculty develop further in the field of training IT human resources.
