Be aware and warned. When hiring someone to do work around your house, please don’t pay until job is finished and you are satisfied. Lot of people are struggling these days and will tell you they can do whatever you need around the house because they don’t want to turn down money. Well, I just got screwed by some guys who trim trees, but said they could put a little 4 brick high retaining wall around a huge oak tree. I had already poured a level concrete base for the bricks to be built on. I was in hospital last three days and come home to a wall that looks like Ms. Kennedy’s kindergarten class came and built during art class. I am livid. My blood pressure is through the roof. What can I do, but get a sledge hammer and rip it down. Go spend $800 on materials and then do it myself. I cannot believe my wife has paid them already. I wish I were here. One of these walls is not like the others. I took pictures of my neighbor’s two brick walls so you can see what I was expecting. The picture does not begin to tell the story of the poor job that was done. Very uneven, not level, gaps of different sizes…etc.See more…
