I recently had a billing dispute with Placerville Dental Group. During the course of this dispute, during which I was treated very disrespectfully by the office, I discovered a number of things. The most incredible fact - the dentist behind my procedure, Brian Steele, is currently ON PROBATION by the Dental Board for over prescribing opiates, destroying healthy teeth and SEXUALLY ABUSING TWO YOUNG WOMEN, illegally administering them with general anesthesia in an attempt to get away with it. After filing a grievance, my insurance company refunded me the excess. I have retained an attorney and will be going after them for damages as well. But I didn't expect this. During investigation of my claim, my attorney found out that the dentist behind my procedure, Brian Steele, was previously reprimanded by the Dental Board for fraud, gross negligence, repeated negligence and excessive treatment, resulting in the destruction of healthy teeth. After swearing to change his ways, he CONTINUED his unethical practices and proceeded to have his license revoked and returned on probation for nothing less than 'clearly excessive and unnecessary treatment', negligence, overprescribing opiates, and sexual misconduct! I also recently found out from another dentist that his failure to administer a whitening agent when he did my root canal caused some discoloration on my tooth. It's not very visible from the front, but it really is the icing on the cake. It really is such a shame that after seven years of being disciplined by the Dental Board, Mr. Steele continues to engage in unethical practices with no remorse, with the willing help of Mr. Cheema.
