Recommendations for a dog groomer. UPDATE: I have decided to name the groomer who maimed my dog, because after combing through old reviews, I’m seeing the mention of children running wild in the back and it needs to stop to save other fur kids from a similar fate. The groomer was Jan’s Grooming. Adding to that, I did find a new groomer and one of their groomers was at Jan’s for 17 years. She left after 17 years because the children were really distracting AND she said they DO tie long ears back at the shop to groom. This means that the owner of Jan’s flat out LIED to me and I’m even more pissed. Do NOT go there. It’s just a matter of time before they hurt your dogs. 😡 My family and I have had a very traumatic experience with a groomer recently where a hair tie ended up on our spaniel‘s ear (my guess is it was put on there by the young children running around the back of the groomer’s shop), caused a huge hematoma, and proceeded to amputate 90% of his ear over the span of two weeks. We were absolutely horrified and devastated to discover this! We didn’t know the hair tie was on his ear and the vet missed it treating his hematoma because it was already embedded so deeply because of the swelling. Thankfully, miraculously, a vet was able to reattach the ear and it looks like he will be able to keep it despite it being 90% amputated. But we need a new groomer. I’m absolutely terrified to take him or our other dog (a poodle…but we do the doodle cut on him) anywhere now, but would like recommendations because he does need to get groomed every couple months. I’m looking for an experienced groomer who is close to Hazel Dell and won’t have any children there. Also, because of our dogs tender ear, I need someone who’s going to be extremely gentle with him.
