I'm Kim Reyes born and raised in San Diego a true native to this beautiful City! I am a Transformational Healing Coach, certified massage therapist, Reiki master and the proud owner of San Diego Therapeutic Massage and Healing.
I've been passionate about helping people for over 20 years and have found that helping with emotional and physical pain relief is my purpose. I've worn many hats in the chapters of my life, but experiencing pain from overuse and learning how to use my body more efficiently has given me the tools and motivation to help others do the same for a new appreciation of life, physically and emotionally.

What does "active lifestyles" mean, do you only work on athletes?
We life in SUNNY San Diego where we have access to the desert, mountains, beach! The majority of us are active and have some hobby that takes us outside. Do you run, play golf, hike or go paddling in our bay? Maybe you're an active parent that plays with your children or have an active job that keeps you moving. No matter the activity, you're likely an active person.
How does your therapy differ from other massage therapists?
I use techniques that are gentle and painless, but highly effective at relieving tension in the tissues and muscle fibers. Your joints are accessed to check their range of motion and use techniques to correct those imbalances. While massage is relaxing, you will be assisting in helping your body feel better for lasting results and pain relief.

Great! I want you to relax too! During a session with me, you can TOTALLY relax and be silent if you wish. I will be checking in with you and explaining what I am doing. I will be asking you to stay present and will even have you participate. I will ask you to activate muscles as well as some moves that will require some resisting, depending on what your body specifically needs.
What is Reiki?
We are made of Energy and Reiki is a type of energy work that aids in balancing the energies in our body connecting mind, body, spirit and emotional health. This makes the body work in a harmonious state reducing physical and emotional stress. There is no harm or negative effects. All people benefit, there are no contraindications with any health conditions. Read more about it in my blog
Corrective manual therapy is using techniques to relax muscles to allow joints to properly function. If a joint is out of alignment, it causes pain and misalignments in another part of the body. Finding the misalignments that could be in the foot can be causing hip pain, which causes low back pain, which causes neck pain. Remember that the body is all connected and pain in one area is not necessarily the cause.
Do you offer Deep Tissue massage?
Yes, I do offer deep tissue when necessary. However, deep tissue should NOT equal pain. I will listen to your body and how it responds and adjust accordingly. Many people have been trained with the "no pain, no gain" mentality; when it comes to massage, more pain can actually lead to an increase in cortisol which creates more stress and possibly anxiety due to this physiological response.
