Amanda Nicholson, Owner
California Licensed Esthetician & Cosmetologist
Amanda is a highly trained, Santa Barbara based Esthetician and Cosmetologist. Her love for art and makeup started at a very early age, and in 2014 her passion blossomed into a career.
Amanda describes makeup artistry and esthetician work as “enhancing one’s personality and natural beauty”.
After attending esthetician school, Amanda went on to work for the exclusive hotel in Santa Barbara, the Belmond El Encanto. In 2016, Amanda left her position at the El Encanto Spa, to expand her career as a freelance Makeup Artist and Esthetician, and to be able to better accommodate her growing clientele.
In order to further her knowledge and expertise, Amanda went on to complete specialty courses in Microblading (2017), Eyelash Extensions (2018 & 2019), Eyelash Lifting & Eyebrow Lamination (2020), and Dermaplaning (2021). To add to her repertoire, Amanda completed additional schooling and received a CA Cosmetology License in 2022. This further developed her love for helping everyone feel confident and beautiful in their own skin.
Amanda has worked with many talented photographers, and agency represented models, actors, and companies such as Ruby Modine, Kate Somerville and Aml Ameen. Her work has been featured in Santa Barbara Magazine, ABC’s Extra!, and QVC. She also is making a name for herself in the Bridal Hair and Makeup industry, creating beautifully timeless looks for her brides and wedding parties while utilizing her skills with traditional makeup and airbrushing.
Today, Amanda owns The Beauty Bar in Santa Barbara.
