Restaurant Roundup: Botski’s lunch, new pizzas, featured ice cream, Cinco de Mayo specials

Botski’s Bar & Grill has added weekday lunch hours. It opens at 11 a.m. and features daily specials in addition to the regular menu. Botski’s also offers $1 off all beer and wine until 6 p.m. weekdays.

Pizza Cheeks in The Hello Hi cocktail bar downtown has three new pizzas. Thatsa Spicy Meatball has spicy red sauce, fresh and dry mozzarella, house meatballs, roasted mushrooms, jalapenos, pecorino, hot honey and basil. Burger Time has red sauce, fresh and dry mozzarella, white cheddar, house meatballs, bacon, dill pickles and pecorino. Dr. Greenfield has arugula pesto, fresh and dry mozzarella, burrata, artichokes, red onion, piquillo peppers and pecorino.

Here are the featured ice cream flavors for May at Stensland Family Farms. They’re added to the dipping case every Wednesday.

The Smoked Culture BBQ & Brews is celebrating Sunday night’s concert at The District with Atmosphere Night on Friday. That includes an exclusive sandwich: The Bigger Picture. It has pulled pork, brisket, jalapeno sausage, onion and pickles, with gold and regular barbecue sauce on a brioche bun. The restaurant will be open until 10 p.m. playing Atmosphere songs and videos, and offering drink specials. There will be a ticket package giveaway with Pepper Entertainment and a chance to win a signed vinyl album from the band. Wear band merchandise to get a 20 percent discount on your meal.

The three-course menu for May at Chef Lance’s on Phillips is a combination of his favorite things to eat since it’s his birthday month. The regular menu is available too. In honor of Lance White turning a year older, everyone else celebrating a May birthday will receive a free dessert when they buy an entree.

Here are the featured food and drink menus for May at Tinner’s Public House and Tinner’s North.

Nekter Juice Bar is celebrating its grand opening Saturday with $5 small juices and smoothies all day. The drink shop opens at 8 a.m., and a party with face painting and a raffle for a chance to win free drinks for three months starts at 10 a.m. The first 25 guests after 10 a.m. will receive a free swag bag. The locally owned franchise of the national chain opened in January on the north side of Dawley Farm Village. It’s open until 8 p.m. Saturday.

Annie’s in Garretson is celebrating the Kentucky Derby with a party. The fun starts at 2 p.m. Tickets are $20 and include hors d’oeuvres and dessert. Derby cocktails will be available.

Lupulin Brewing Co. won a silver medal at the World Beer Cup for Dortmunder. It was honored in the category for Dortmunder/export or German-style Oktoberfest. The beer previously won gold medals in both the Great American Beer Festival and U.S. Open Beer Championship. It’s on draft in the taproom for a limited time.

Most bars and several restaurants are celebrating Cinco de Mayo with specials. Here are just a few:

  • The Treasury is having its pop-up Taqueria at The Treasury special menu today through Monday. See the menu here.

  • Umami Cafe & Catering has a special menu through Saturday that it’s serving from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. For breakfast, there are burritos, huevos rancheros, chilaquiles verde and conchas French toast. For lunch, offerings include shrimp ceviche, carne asada or grilled fish tacos and pupusas, along with special side dishes and desserts.

  • WoodGrain Brewing Co. is celebrating early with a party Friday. Stop by at noon for the release of Pinata Lima, a Mexican-style lager with lime. Southern Perfection BBQ will be serving tacos and its regular menu from 5 to 9:30 p.m., and live music with Jason Helder starts at 7 p.m.

  • Wileys is serving $16 specialty Teremana Fishbowls on Friday and Saturday from 7 p.m. to close and all day Sunday. Get $5 Corona and Modelo beers and two beef tacos for $5.

  • Azteca Mexican Restaurant has a special Sunday on mesquite chicken fajitas and $5 large draft beers and house lime margaritas.

  • The Phillips Avenue Diner has a Cinco de Mayo featured menu on Sunday.

  • Here are Simon’s Tacos specials for Sunday.

  • Great Shots is selling $2 margaritas and featuring barbacoa quesadillas on Sunday.

  •  The Barrel House has crafted cocktails for the weekend: raspberry mango and blood orange margaritas and a tequila punch. Get a bottle of BH Corazon for $35 while supplies last.

  • On Sunday, The Goat Bar & Grill in Hartford is serving special flavors for on-the-rocks margaritas, new fixings for blood marys and two special appetizers: Mexican-style cheese spring rolls with honey sriracha sauce and chicken chili flautas.

Changes in hours, service

  • Severance Brewing Co. has started summer taproom hours: noon to 8 p.m. Sunday, 2 to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and noon to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
  • Polar Bites will open its 41st Street location at 3 p.m. Monday. To start the season, hours will be 3 to 9 p.m. weekdays and 1 to 9 p.m. on the weekend.
  • Humble Hill Winery north of Garretson has opened its tasting room for the season. Hours are noon to 6 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
  • Eileen’s Colossal Cookies is at capacity for special orders through May 18. The bakery will keep its case stocked with cookies, especially for occasions like graduations, nurse and teacher appreciation days and Mother’s Day.
  • Someday Cafe in Baltic is closed this week. Dine in and takeout is available at Doghouse Bar from 3 to 8 p.m.
