Smart Money Management-VA, LLC, was created by Valerie Mawdsley in 2013 to provide caring and confidential assistance with clients’ personal and financial daily business matters, enabling clients to enjoy life without the worry of paying the bills and staying organized. Over the years Valerie has chosen to focus on assisting seniors who are struggling to live safe and independent in their own homes. She also works with seniors who are already living in independent living communities such as CCRCs (Greenspring being one of them) and may be in between independent and assisted living conditions.
As a member of the American Association of Daily Money Managers (AADMM), Smart Money Management-VA owner Valerie Mawdsley follows the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice outlined by the American Association of Daily Money Managers. Valerie is also a Certified Senior Advisor with the Society of Certified Senior Advisors and continues to educate herself on how best to help the senior population in her area.
What is a Daily Money Manager (DMM)?
A Daily Money Manager is a professional who provides personal business assistance to clients who have difficulties in managing their personal monetary or business affairs. Members of AADMM have access to professional development, educational resources, and networking opportunities that allow us to better provide personal financial services to senior citizens, the disabled, busy professionals and others.
DMMs are not financial or legal professionals (unless we carry a separate license), so we don’t act in an advisory role or prepare tax returns. We can help prepare your financial papers for your accountant and we can refer you to trusted CPAs, attorneys and investment advisors.
Services can be provided in your home on a weekly, bi-weekly, monthly or as-needed basis. We customize our services to fit your needs!
