Frequently Asked Questions

Regarding Your First Visit

Q. What do I need to bring?

A. We will need you to bring your driver’s license (or appropriate photo ID), your insurance card and any relevant information from your doctor’s office (your medical records, recent x-rays, etc.).

Q. Do I need to arrive early?

A. Yes, we usually recommend that our patients arrive at least 15 minutes early in order to allow the time necessary for filling out paperwork prior to their appointment. However, you can save time by filling out our new patient form at home and then bringing it with you to your first appointment.

Q. What should I wear?

A. What you should wear largely depends upon the type of treatment you’re expecting to receive and your personal comfort level. We generally recommend loose-fitting clothing that can modestly reveal the areas of your pain or discomfort. You may wear them to our office or you may change in our private bathroom prior to your appointment if you desire.

Q. What kind of shoes should I wear?

A. If you have a foot injury, we typically recommend shoes that can be easily removed. Otherwise, wear shoes that you’ll feel comfortable exercising in. You may also change your shoes when you arrive.

Q. How long are your appointments?

A. Your initial one-on-one evaluation should last about an hour. You can expect each follow-up appointment to take 30-60 minutes, depending upon what our physical therapist recommends.

Q. Will I receive treatment the first day?

A. Yes, you can expect to receive treatment during every one-on-one session with our physical therapist.

Q. How often will I need to come?

A. This will be discussed with you during your initial evaluation. It will vary from individual to individual, depending upon your condition and what type of treatment our physical therapist recommends.
