About

Welcome to the UNT Classical Guitar Studio page! UNT’s Classical Guitar Program stands as one of the leading programs in the United States. Our program attracts a diverse student body from around the world, including South America, Europe, and Asia. We offer a range of courses in the guitar area, including Guitar Ensemble, Guitar Chamber Music, Guitar Pedagogy, and Guitar Literature.

Performance is a significant focus of our program, with students having various opportunities, such as:

  • Guitar Departmental Meetings
  • Guitar Ensemble
  • Chamber Music
  • Annual Concerto Competition
  • Participation in larger ensembles like the Baroque Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra, Wind Symphony, and Opera.

For graduate students, what distinguishes UNT from other graduate programs is our flexibility in tailoring your degree program to align with your musical interests and career goals.

Additionally, our dedicated student organization, Mean Green Guitar Guild, frequently hosts internationally renowned artists and masterclasses. Recent guest artists have included SoloDuo, Matthias Lang, and Rene Izquierdo. The organization also provides funding to support students attending national symposia and conferences.
