Finally… the first Berawa Food & Wine Festival!

“I’m surprised Berawa hasn’t had its own Food & Wine Festival like Ubud and Sanur” (Richard, an expat living in Berawa for over five years).

The Berawa Food & Wine Festival (BWFWF) was the first “community festival event” of its kind. It catered for the whole family, took place over one day, and FREE entry. 

The stunning venue, Tamora Gallery, the first lifestyle shopping center of its kind in Berawa, Canggu hosted this annual event.

BWFWF uplifted, supported, and reflected the shifting face of Berawa. It was achieved by showcasing local and international gourmet food, beverages, and unique artisan products which call Berawa home. This also included established brands such as Ulekan of The Good Food Brotherhood fame and some as yet undiscovered gastronomic treasures.

Twenty-five curated food & beverage stalls will wonder their way through Tamora Gallery on Saturday, August 10th, 2019  from 10 am to 10 pm.

To maintain its unique appeal each food stallholder created at least one dish exclusive to BWFWF and all F&B operators must observe the price guide of 50k per serve. BWFWF was a supporter of its local neighborhood and featured an Indonesian Speciality Food Cart Corner (ISFCC) which was price guide exempt.

There were two entertainment platforms, one an exciting Kids Bazaar, the other in the entertainment arena which featured some of the best creative talents in Bali; poetry/live music, stand-up, and Vault deejays. The venue already has a cutting-edge kids playground, skate bowl, forty-four properties comprising, shopping, lifestyle, eateries, health & beauty, Genesis Creative Centre, and successful The Bunker and The Vault.

There were competitions, activities, and masterclasses conducted by industry heavyweights including, The Hatten Group (Hatten Wines and Two Islands Wines).

BWFWF was timed to coincide with the peak of the high season and was well placed in the busiest stretch of Pantai Berawa (close to Finns Club). Thirty percent of the target market was the expat families residing in Canggu – many of which were clients of Tamora Gallery and locals from Denpasar. International Tourists account for sixty percent, and domestic tourists holidaying in Canggu from Jakarta and Surabaya the remaining ten percent.

BWFWF was conscious of the environment and its community whilst already moving towards a zero-waste policy, promoting the use of no plastic, and supporting the charity Solemen Indonesia.
