Our history
Tri County Transportation was started in 1964 by William and Janet Tibbott as a two-vehicle operation servicing the needs of students requiring specialized transportation.
In 1975, the Tibbotts added their first school buses to their fleet. In 1992, William and Janet’s son, Jerry Tibbott, took over the company with a fleet of 38 vehicles. In 2022, Tri County Transportation became part of the Beacon Mobility family.
Through the years of hard work, Tri County has grown to provide transportation for thousands of school-aged children in seven school districts and the Appalachia Intermediate Unit 28, with over 250 vehicles.
Tri County Transportation has always been a leader in initiating and developing safety standards which exceed required levels set by the state or federal government.
Part of the Beacon Mobility family
In 2022, TriCounty Transportation joined the Beacon Mobility family of transportation companies.
