Hajimeya

Hajimeya

Located a few minutes walk from Yokohama Station, Hajimeya is an izakaya, or Japanese style bar, that serves a variety of small dishes and drinks, as well as Japanese hotpot.

Without a doubt, one of Hajimeya’s most popular dishes is its motsunabe—a type of hotpot in which beef or pork offal and vegetables are simmered in a savory broth. At Hajimeya, you can choose to flavor the broth with either white miso or soy sauce. Another popular menu item here is their seasonal sashimi, purchased and prepared fresh for you. Cheese lovers can also enjoy an array of cheesy dishes, including camembert with pollock, an assorted cheese platter, chicken cheesesteak, grilled eggplant with cheese, and more. Of course, Hajimeya also sells plenty of bar food staples, such as edamame, karaage (fried chicken), and French fries.

In terms of drinks, you can choose from an extensive menu of beer, highball, cocktails, wine, sours, shochu (a Japanese distilled liquor), and sake, as well as soft drinks.

On Saturdays and Sundays, you can enjoy seafood bowls during lunchtime.

With its vast menu, simple, yet cozy interior, and all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink options, Hajimeya is a perfect place for a weekend lunch or evening in Yokohama.
