With Spears now being able to be made into Infinity, what’s the new best possible infinity base? Spears have a -20 speed base making it faster than any polearm and new breakpoints for merc jab, and spears off the war pike base which is higher damage. Need new bp and dps calculators for these!
A lightning based spearazon using Charged Strike/Lightning Strike might see Infinity in a Matriarchal Spear as appealing now with its -45-55% reduced enemy lightning resistance, with the possibility of using Pride on an act 2 merc to buff its melee damage.

Yes. That build is going to be amazing now. So happy about these changes.
I think Polearms might still have a slight edge because you can use them for Insight while waiting for Infinity (unless I missed something and Insight is now on spears too).
An ethereal obedience War Pike would be amazing for a WW build if they actually fix the WW bug and improve WW… 
If its like in PD2, Mancatchers are now the BIS base. Would need to make sure it fits with the live game IAS tables though as i don’t remember if PD2 messed with them.

And is that because the -20 base speed is faster than the -10 threshers? And ias bps give more damage than a higher base damage average?
I guess either way I’ll start saving those 4os eth spear bases! Just wondering if I should liquidate my eth threshers.
Yep but it depends if it allows your merc to reach a higher IAS BP with Jab, otherwise it doesn’t really matter.
Gonna have to wait for the mathy people to figure that out (and they will cause Youtube money).
But either way its just going to make finding a base for it easier too for people who don’t feel like waiting on a perfect Eth +15% base (which is wishful thinking over the span of a 4 months ladder).
