What is Grafting? Grafting is used to select the variety of fruit you want and grafting it on a seedling or older tree. When you take a scion from and older tree that's already producing and graft it onto a seedling not only will you change the variety/fruit of the seedling but speed up production as well.
Grafting at Utopia Trees! At Utopia Trees we do a lot of grafting whether its a custom job for a customer or trying to fill in inventory for the new season we do it all. We have used a number of grafting knives from different companies and that is why we recommend The Bahco P11. With its plastic grip and sharp blade it makes grafting go much smoother. The bronze spatula also helps us lift the bark for other types of grafts which saves time, effort, and money.

You can graft at any time you like just be careful with the cold as the cold can kill your scions.
