Named after the Chuchote family and built around by recipes passed down to each generation, newcomer Chuchote Thai Bistro & Desserts specializes in Southern Thai dishes, which they proudly note, are uncommon in Las Vegas.
The informal restaurant sits close to the intersection of Sahara Avenue and Arville Street and was most recently home to Kinthai. Inside, Chuchote has been inspired by the city of Bangkok and staff are outfitted in bright jackets similar to those used by the city's motorbike delivery drivers.
On the menu, starters like the $6.95 “crunchy” organic Japanese tofu, “Dungeness Crab Rangoon,” a selection of curries including pumpkin, plus Tom Kha and Tom Zaap soups and a familiar roster of pan fried noodles.
Entree specials include the $10.95 “Pad Ped Moo” made with stir fried pork and string beans in homemade curry paste and the $15,95 “Kang Som salmon” cooked with vegetables in tamarind and chili broth, recommended to be paired with a Thai omelet.
House drinks include hibiscus or chrysanthemum options and the growing dessert menu features a Thai egg custard with sticky rice or a Thai pancake with ice cream.
