Vacation to Klaten, Jawa Tengah feels incomplete without going to Umbul Ponggok. Umbul define as spring water located in Ponggok Village, Polanharjo District has become the main destination for tourists.

Visitors can enjoy snorkeling and seeing fish at the bottom of the water with the facilities in Umbul Ponggok and make the sensation of a picnic more fun.

1. Umbul Sigedang-Kapilaler

Umbul Sigedang-Kapilaler is a spring water and located near Umbul Ponggok. At Umbul Sigedang-Kapilaler, visitors can enjoy the calm atmosphere of the countryside as well as the freshness of swimming in natural springs. 

Umbul Sigedang is located in Dukuh Umbulsari, Ponggok Village. While Umbul Kapilaler is administratively included in Karanglo Village. These two water springs are just separated by the street.

In Umbul Sigedang-Kapilaler, there is an old, large, and shady banyan tree. The presence of a banyan tree is also great for an exotic photo spot. 

Just like Umbul Ponggok, Umbul Sigedang-Kapilaler also offers a clear water spring tour. The water is so clear, the rocks and sand at the bottom of the Umbul are visible. It also includes some diverse and large freshwater fishes. This place is suitable as a spot area for landscape or underwater photos.

2. Umbul Besuki

Near Umbul Sigedang-Kapilaler, there is Umbul Besuki that is located in Dukuh Kiringan, Ponggok Village. This nautical tourism attraction is fairly starting to be popular because it is fresh and just opened on November 1, 2019.

Similar to other water springs, Umbul Besuki also presents a swimming area with a natural atmosphere. Umbul Besuki which has a depth of about 16-170 cm is surrounded by Dutch teak forest and rivers.

Although it only opened last year, Umbul Besuki has been there since a hundred years ago. The water that comes out of Umbul Besuki spring contains balanced and refreshing mineral content.

3. Umbul Siblarak

Nautical tourism in Klaten is not only in Ponggok Village but there is also Sidowayah Village which is still located in the same district as Ponggok, It has a water spring tourism called Umbul Siblarak. 

Umbul Siblarak is in the form of a swimming pool that is built in the middle of rice fields. There are two swimming pools in Umbul Siblarak, which are a children's pool with a depth of 50 cm and an adult pool with a depth of 150 cm.

Since it is an artificial swimming pool, the water in Umbul Siblarak is from Umbul Manten. So, the sensation of swimming in Umbul Siblarak is almost similar to Umbul Manten.

The landscape offered by Umbul Siblarak attracts visitors. Because it is built in the middle of the rice fields complex, the sensation of traveling in Umbul Siblarak is like in Ubud, Bali.

In Umbul Siblarak there is a unique ride, namely Flying Byur. Flying byur is different from flying fox. A flying fox, the landing area is on the ground, while Flying Byur, the landing area is in the water pond.

4. Umbul Manten

Umbul Manten is located about 200 meters from Umbul Siblarak in Sidowayah Village, Polanharjo District, Klaten.

Umbul Manten’s atmosphere is more natural than Umbul Siblarak's. Because there are still many large trees around Umbul Manten. In addition, the panorama of rice fields on the right and left make beautiful scenery. 

Umbul Manten has very clear water, so clear, the rocks at the bottom can be seen clearly.

There is a legend about Umbul Manten that is spread among the citizen's mouths by mouths. In the past, there was a bride-to-be who was secluded before marriage. They should not meet 40 days before the wedding day. 

Unfortunately, the advice was violated by them. The two decided to meet at the water spring. Yet, faith said otherwise. When they walked hand in hand, they could not see each other.

It is said, the groom-to-be drowned in the water spring called Umbul Pelem. While the bride-to-be drowned in Umbul Manten. The distance between these two water springs is not that far.

5. Umbul Pelem

Only a minute from Umbul Manten, there is Umbul Pelem located in the west of Wunut Village, Tulung District.

Umbul Pelem has been in place for decades. Even Umbul Pelem is just a small pond surrounded by a watercress field. 

After a major renovation, Umbul Manten reopened in May 2018. The concept of the nautical tourism offered by Umbul Pelem is also different from other water springs. 

Now, Umbul Pelem becomes a swimming pool with a width of 20 meters and a depth of 1.5 to 2 meters. This pool can accommodate hundreds of visitors. In addition, there is a children's pool with a depth of 50 cm.

However, the initial small pond of Umbul Pelem still exists and is still maintained because this small pond is a water source of the swimming pool in Umbul Pelem.

Bathing in Umbul Pelem feels so refreshing because it is a natural water spring with no chlorine. In addition, it is not painful in the eyes even though the tourist has been swimming for a long time. Especially the water in Umbul Pelem is continuously flowing, so the water changes every second.
