EinDollarBrille e.V.

More than 950 million people in the world need glasses but are unable to afford them. Children cannot learn, parents cannot work and take care of their families. The OneDollarGlasses consist of a light, flexible spring steel frame. They are manufactured and sold by the local people themselves. The material costs: around 1 US dollar.

Objectives

In cooperation with local partners, the association is building up structures in developing countries that are intended to ensure a long-term, financially independent supply of people with affordable, high-quality, locally produced eyeglasses.

Your support helps

people with defective vision who cannot afford optician's glasses, but are willing to pay 2 to 3 daily wages for new glasses. So they can go back to school, drive a truck or operate a sewing machine. The income from the sale of glasses creates jobs in our local eyeglass factories and for the people who sell the glasses.
