Lifestyle medicine is the use of evidence-based lifestyle therapeutic interventions, divided into “6 Pillars” and they are whole-food plant-based eating, regular moderate physical activity, restorative sleep, stress management, avoidance of risky substances, and loving relationships. Lifestyle interventions are powerful and can prevent, treat and possibly reverse chronic diseases. 80% of chronic diseases in our country are due to lifestyle choices. 

Lifestyle medicine takes a proactive and holistic approach, emphasizing lifestyle interventions as a first-line treatment rather than relying solely on medications or invasive procedures. It aims to address the root cause of the disease, rather than just managing symptoms.

Yes, lifestyle medicine can be used alongside conventional medical treatments, in fact, it is a sub-speciality of allopathic medicine. It is often integrated with other medical interventions to optimize health outcomes and improve the effectiveness of traditional medical treatments.

While diet and exercise are important components of lifestyle medicine, it also encompasses other healthy behaviours such as stress management, sleep hygiene, tobacco cessation, alcohol moderation, and social connection. It takes a comprehensive approach to improve overall health and well-being.

WellGreen is a doctor-led healthcare organisation working on the principles of Lifestyle medicine to help people manage chronic diseases and achieve their health & well-being goals with a whole-person approach.

We provide lifestyle consultations, health coaching and lifestyle programs for weight loss, general health & well-being and various chronic diseases like diabetes, hypertension, PCOS etc working on all the 6 pillars.

Yes, you should continue with the treatment and medications as recommended by your doctor. We advise that you inform your doctor that you are going to work with our program so that they can modify the dosage or change your medications based on the results of your investigations.

You can either book an appointment or a free introductory call through the website to get in touch with us, and we will guide you from there.

Once an appointment is fixed, you will be sent a self-assessment form and a link for a video consultation call. The first Lifestyle consultation involves a detailed assessment of medical history and evaluation of all 6 pillars of lifestyle medicine. Subsequent consultations will focus on working on 1 or 2 pillars depending on your health needs and goals. After the initial two consultations, you can either continue with follow-up consultations or enrol in a personalised  WellGreen health program.

Lifestyle medicine consultations last longer as it focuses on a whole-person approach and identifying and working on the root cause of the diseases. The initial one or two consultations take 45 minutes to 1 hour and subsequent consultations usually take 15 to 30 minutes.

WellGreen Health programs are personalized to your disease conditions and health goals. They include lifestyle consultations and prescriptions/ action plans, health coaching sessions, diet/ nutrition and exercise plans, stress/ sleep management advice, WellGreen health community chat support and access to WellGreen tools and resources.
