Who I Am

The long journey from frustrated employee to motivated entrepreneur

Ever since I was 15 years old, I’ve always known that I wanted to be an entrepreneur. I know this because the only time I ever got over 90% in any class in high school was when I took an entrepreneurship course in the 10th grade. Once I graduated from high school however, the dream of starting my own business gave way to the reality of having to pay rent and bills enroute to being a cog in the capitalist engine that runs our society

After years of toiling and being under appreciated working for the LCBO, I decided to make a go of my long time dream of being my own boss, and I left the LCBO behind for good in 2013. I spent the next 9 years going through a lot of ups and downs on my journey, including a failed limousine business and many unfulfilling jobs, including stints at Canada Post, Purolator Courier and Amazon to name a few. And of course, a 2 year worldwide pandemic that I and everyone else on the planet had to endure. Then, in 2022, I bought a 2019 Chevrolet Express cargo van, thinking I could get some work as an independent courier. As a side gig, I would move people with my van by putting ads on Kijiji. The courier thing was a complete bust, but I really liked moving people out of their old homes and into their new ones. Then, in early 2023, I decided to go all in helping people with all of their unique moving challenges. I haven’t looked back since.

I want to offer people something that they’ve never seen before in a moving company, and that’s a one stop shopping experience for all of your moving and logistic needs. No job will be too big or small. That’s the idea behind One Man And A Van and that’s the type of service I want to provide. Give us a call now and find out what we can do for you!
