Fantastic large oil on canvas painting by Ira Yeager (American 1938-2022) Pantera Leo depicts an imposing lion in front of an Asian motif chinoiserie decorated background. The ground features intricate gilt pagodas and golden pavilions over a dramatic scarlet red field. The painting is signed in bottom left and inscribed "Pantera Leo Linnaeus" referencing Carl Linnaeus's binomial nomenclature system of naming species. Label verso from Ira Yeager's studio 304 Shotwell St. San Francisco, CA dated 2002.
