Soiled, with some separation along spine, previous owner's signature at head of title page. A widow and her brother-in-law hire a killer to kill the man who killed her husband. Sordid enough but then the judge, a young Strom Thurmond, has to step in because he's had an ongoing affair with the widow. The killer, widow and brother-in-law all get the electric chair. Strom Thurmond went on to serve in the United States Senate for 48 years, dying in office at the age of one hundred.
