This 5.25 x 6.75 inch, unpaginated hardcover book with dust wrapper is an apparent First Edition ? Later State of this title. This book is in spectacularly fine condition with virtually no sign of age or handling wear showing to the paper-covered boards with black cloth spine strip. This copy shows the 1952 copyright with only the LOC catalog number . . . but no additional printing information provided. This copy does have the gr-r-r on about page 23. This book shows no damage or markings inside or out with the paper covers virtually As New and the interior text clean and in fine condition. The text pages show four pages with the tips of the bottom corners dog-eared ? but this is only one-sixteenth of a fold ? and have flattened out nicely. The dust wrapper is in near fine condition with just a bit of discoloration and wear at the top and bottom of the folds and with a quarter-inch closed tear on the top edge ? and a small tear and fold at the spine bottom. The wrapper shows a $2.50 at the top of the front flap, a 30-70 code at the bottom of the front flap ? and the short bio of illustrator Sendak mentions no previous publications ? and with the rear panel indicating the author Krauss with six previous published works. The dust jacket does show the top and bottom corners of the front flap clipped. The jacket is now protected by a mylar cover. Seller Inventory # 1505-1719
