Hundreds of tributes have been offered in memory of one of Aberdeen's most popular tattoo artists, who has sadly passed away.

Kev Bailey, who owned and operated Kev's Inkhouse on Powis Terrace, had been recently diagnosed with stage 5 terminal cancer and passed away on Friday, July 14 2023.

Kev's family confirmed that the artist died after taking a turn for the worse on Thursday. Kev's treatment did not include chemotherapy or surgery and his final days were to be spent having "quality time with his family and finding peace."

Kev, who was originally from Holyhead in Wales, had been a tattoo artist for almost 40 years, and he established Kev's Inkhouse with his wife Amanda back in 1999.

The parlour has become known for its focus on creating a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere and its numerous dedicated returning customers.

Taking to social media, Kev's son Alex said: "It comes with great sorrow and regret to announce this. As some of you will have been aware, my dad had been recently diagnosed with stage 5, terminal cancer, and espite being so strong after diagnosis, Kev Bailey took a turn for the worse on Thursday and regrettably passed away on Friday evening, at home in his bed.

"Thank you all for the kind messages on the Kevs Inkhouse page and those who have messaged directly too. I will try and get back to you when I'm feeling up to it, but your messages are greatly appreciated.
